"I was skeptical about booking this place for me and my friend because the price was fantastic and felt too good to be true but I was massively mistaken. The room was clean and spotless with a large living room and kitchen area, separated bedroom with a lovely bathroom. It was really nice for a change to stay in an apartment style hotel rather than the standard bed and bathroom and I would highly recommend this place to everyone if you’re looking to stay in Liverpool. The staff were amazing and super helpful, very easy to chat to and get along with and made me feel super comfortable about my stay."

"We just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at The Resident, Liverpool. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous; our room was lovely, and the kitchenette was a fantastic, thoughtful touch. ​On our first night, we noticed some noise from the local nightlife. Since we’d forgotten to pack earplugs, we asked reception if they had any on our way to breakfast. Not only did they provide them free of charge, but by the time we sat down for breakfast, I had an email from the manager offering to move us to a quieter room. We hadn't even asked for a move, so this proactive service was a brilliant surprise! They even handled the transfer of our belongings while we were out exploring. The staff truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We won’t hesitate to return and are already looking forward to trying other Resident locations."

"Less than a five-minute walk from the front water and about an eight-minute walk from the train tube station. All the staff were very warm and helpful."

"Air conditioning did not work, body wash in the shower was empty, unable to open the window at all, no microwave, no fridge. Staff was very nice and in a good location. Did not try the bar or restaurant but did hear live music. It's an ok hotel in a good spot but honestly overpriced most likely because of the theme. "

"Was plonked in a dark basment room with no view. Above underground rail and next to exit door. Continuous noise all night. Needless to say i will avoid staying here again."

"This was our second time at the Shankly and you can tell some upgrades to the rooms are required to make it look as good as it was. For example, some flooring is peeling away from use over time and the furnishing are sometimes missing parts/handles etc. However in saying that, for big groups, the Shankly is fabulous value for money in a brilliant location so we would absolutely stay again. "
