"Overnight stay to attend wedding at a local venue the Lion called to check we were still needing the trim and when we said it was a wedding they suggested options to be able to check in as it was earlier than the published time. Rooms were excellent staff also excellent and food was fantastic highly recommend this hotel "

"Stayed for 3 nights. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Room was attractive, and of a good size, and the provision of bottled water in the room was a lovely touch. Well stocked hospitality tray too. Bathroom was well appointed. Only issue we had was that when showering after 9.30 pm, the hot water only came out as luke warm; by morning it was lovely and hot. "Have stayed here several times. The vines restaurant is exquisite but this time one the mains was not up to scratch. Soon remedied with a replacement and 2 free glasses of wine and a desert. Cost of the one meal was deducted from our bill by Julian the restaurant manager who could have done anymore "

"Pleasant stay, beautiful setting, breakfast was fairly basic. Room and furnishings were lovely as was the bath. Room drinks poor. Dusty and dirty between floorboards. Sink basin overflow was really dirty."
