"The room was roomy and clean. The only thing not good was you had to step into the bath to use the shower and there was no handle bar on the wall to hold on to. The staff was helpful in looking after our cases when we arrived before we could go into the room."

"Recently refurbished hotel. Very nice bar the old windows which are not sound proof. Hotel were very good and moved us upon request due to traffic noise (as windows so poor). Staff throughout were brilliant. Would stay again. "

"The room was decadent, stately and incredibly clean. It was like walking back in time. We loved the garden and grounds. We only wish there was less golf and more woodland trails. The staff were wonderful and full of great stories. We will return one day. "

"A well-renovated Victorian seaside hotel. Friendly and professional receptionist meant a smooth and rapid check-in. Room 102 very clean and renovated to a good standard. Nice toiletries and plenty of clear spaces for my things. Only thing that slightly marred the experience was very unpredictable internet that disappeared fairly frequently. Didn't use the bar or restaurant as attending a birthday event nearby"

Only real criticism was that the bathroom windows would not close properly as they were clearly written and in need of repair. As regards Champneys, nice facility, however, clearly getting tired with plaster falling off adjacent to the sauna and the showers in need of an update. The staff were all very helpful and always on hand. "

"Stayed here for 1 night to be close to Winters Barn for a family wedding. Place was easy to find, clean and comfortable. Shower hot and large rainforest style head which i loved. Staff friendly and accommodating, i needed an extension lead to dry my hair as no plugs near the mirror and the team were accommodating. Breakfast was nice too. Would stay again. Its also a short drive to main Canterbury city center. "
