View from the Top
Very quiet setting on top of the hill within walking distance of the old town. Very well appointed unit although there was a black mold problem in both bedrooms which we took had to care of ourselves. The one heat pump was not adequate to keep the place warm. Explored the small towns in the Algarve as well as a side trip to Seville, Spain.

Hi June , thank you for your review. Always take comments submitted seriously. Black mold is a problem in all houses on the Algarve in winter. The Atlantic Ocean provides a lot of moisture during that time. But with a cloth and bleach it goes away in no time. It's not nice to read that you weren't warm inside every now and then. Every person experiences cold and heat differently. We understand that you have not used the woodburner in addition to the air conditioning. It would have made a big difference in terms of heat. Lovely property in a great position
Property is in a lovely position on Windmill Hill with beautiful views overlooking the sea. It was lovely sitting on the terrace of the cafeteria in the evening watching the moon coming up. I was a little worried about the walk from the old town up to Windmill Hill after reading some of the comments but as a 78 year old I did it twice every day! Down to the old town for Sangria during the day and down for dinner in the evening. There is a small train which goes down to the old town from stop 4 very regularly but we didn’t use it. If you have any problems in the property best to email the owner direct who replies immediately. We used Yellowfish taxis, booked on line to pick us up from the airport and return. They were very efficient.

Quiet location 10 min from Old Town
The property is situated in a nice area elevated above the old town. It is an easy 10 min walk down to the Oldtown and beach area, but is a bit more strenuous coming back up. Good exercise if you are fit. The complex has a beautiful pool for a late afternoon swim and rest. The apt. was clean and comfortable. Please note that it does not have AC however for us in mid-Sept we didn't need it as it stayed fairly cool with the front/rear windows open allowing a nice cross breeze. The unit was well stocked in the kitchen. We would have rated higher however some smaller amenities were lacking in our opinion. These were - only one roll of toilet tissue per bathroom, only 1 set of bath towels per bathroom and no garbage bags in kitchen. We were there for 5 nights and felt these were inadequate for that length of stay. Outside of that we enjoyed our stay.

Family vacation
The property was beautiful and perfectly located. Everything was in walking distance and the pool was just steps away and the view from the pool area was just spectacular! Communication was great and Bertus was always quick to respond and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone.

Stunning apartment in ideal location

Fantastic
The apartment is a really decent size, the complex not too large, the bar is great and staff friendly. Really enjoyed this location, found that we would walk into town (down the slopes) and get a taxi back €3.50 from the town or use Uber which is a good service too. Lots of lovely restaurants and definitely worth booking a trip at the marina to go dolphin watching and a tour of of the coastline. The host at this apartment is very attentive and sorted out immediately a few issues, couldn’t fault it. Well recommended.

The apartment was excellent on a very good site, quiet and a good pool and sunbeds always available. Facilities on site were limited and no food available after 17.50 except in the Windmill Restaurant which is very expensive. A big disappointment was the distance to walk into town and we never found a route shorter than about 20mins. We had decided not to hire a car this year but found the local taxis very convenient and relatively inexpensive. We did not use the check in process but it seems we have to rate it to send the review.

Hi Peter . Thank you for your review. We do not know wich road you chose to the old town or beach but it is a 10 minutes by walking. That the restaurant at the pool is closed after 17.00 is a issue of many owners . We hope in the coming future it will be longer open. But fortunaly there are plenty of restaurants open in the neighbour of our apartment. Regards Bertus.

Hidden Gem
The location was a little challenging to find especially when you arrive in the dark. But once you’re there the location is quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and clean. Beautiful view at the pool.

Beautiful, well appointed suite.
The property is quite beautiful, as the pictures indicate. The suite was well decorated with pleasing decor and comfortable chairs. The outdoor furniture is very nice. The kitchen is very well stocked. Lovely attention to all the details. The bathrooms are beautiful and the shower was great. The washing machine worked very well. We have a couple of comments on the property description. We came expecting to have an onsite restaurant for a coffee or a breakfast or lunch. The restaurant requires advanced reservation, has two seatings at 7 and 9 and averages 70 euros per person. The property is also located far enough away from restaurants and cafes to not be an easy walk if you aren't good with hills. However, Ubers are wonderful. The air conditioning unit worked well (we had some quite cold nights). The second bedroom was used by my husband and I and is not a comfortable sleep. The beds are very hard and the pillows are not big enough for an adult. Perhaps when possible a mattress upgrade would go along way to accommodating those guests that do not have small children. The last point was the issue that my husband communicated, which was the sulphur odor in the master ensuite. The property manager seemed to never have heard of the issue, but it was very pervasive and as a result we did not use it except to wash some clothes. All in all this is a well decorated suite with lovely modern bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen and comfortable chairs. The ownver obviously tried very hard to think of things that would make a stay enjoyable. Despite the issues mentioned, we had a nice holiday.

Great space for a vacation
It was very clean and very comfortable. We were able to cook meals and everything was an easy walk or uber away! Only mishap was that we broke the coffee pot bowl, so I bought a new coffee machine to replace it.

Windmill Hill August 2022
Fantastic location walkable to beach, marina and Albufeira old town, As the name suggests the complex sits at the top of a hill ok going down but quite tiring coming back. Lovely pool and bar area, very clean plenty of beds and umbrellas. The apartment was clean and comfortable with everything you need. We were initially concerned about the lack of air conditioning but it’s not required the nights are quite cool with a breeze! It is on the ground floor and we encountered a few ants around the kitchen area and dishwasher. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely visit again.

Beautiful and quiet apartment
Stayed here with my parents as a short break. It's a little hilly on the way up, so when you first arrive I'd advise using a taxi (about 5-6 euros from town or 45-50 euros from Faro airport). Apartment is very nice and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials and the hosts have made sure all the essentials you need are there including bin liners, kitchen towels, tissues, washing up liquid and hand wash. I've stayed at a few homeaway apartments and these little thing make a massive difference so this goes a long long way! :) There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and an ensuite and another room with two single beds. There is another bathroom next to this one. The facilities are super clean and new! We didn't really use the front or back patio, but there is plenty of seating and tables there. Also some parasols for additional shading. Again, we didn't use the communal pool, but it's moderately sized and has quite a few deck chairs out. As far as I can see, it was of a first come first serve basis. The walk down to the beach is a leisure 10-15 minute walk. But be warned the walk includes a lot of incline. The reward however, is an awesome view of the town and the beach and evenings a beautiful sunset! I should also mention the hosts are very easy to contact and reply quickly to any questions you might have. Thanks for having us!!

Nice property in a good location
Kitchen well stocked, very nice outdoor eating areas, access to a very nice pool is a bonus. Easy walk to Gale Beach. Apt was hot, need fans and fairly noisy when windows open,

Thanks for your review. In the Algarve it is almost hot. Suggestion is to close the shutters and make it dark by day , so that it sats cool inside. Wenn we are here we have it always cool. The noisy came from guest who had a dog. ThThere were more complains and the manager had solved this noisy.

Great apartment and beautiful stay in Albufeira
The apartment was great. Well equiped. Clean and modern. Nice swimmingpool with restaurant and even a mini market. Beautiful view over the coastline of the Algarve. Centre of Albufeira in 10 min. walking. The best is to rent a car. There so much nice beaches in the area. RECOMMENDED!!

We had a lovely stay in Bertus and Ingrids apartment.Set on a beautiful complex.Very quiet at night.Walk into town about ten minutes.Lots of restaurants and bars in walking distance.A bit hilly for the faint hearted but good exercise.We would really recommend it.

Excellentes vacances!!
Nous avons passé d’excellentes vacances à Albufiera. Le logement est tout à fait conforme à la description. Proche de la plage et de la ville à pied , le logement est dans un endroit très calme .Vous pouvez profiter de la piscine ( il n’y avait d’ailleurs jamais beaucoup de monde , il était facile de trouver des transats ) et du bar restaurant ( le personnel est très sympathique) . Si vous souhaitez profiter de l’ambiance festive de Albufiera, vous aurez le choix entre le taxi et Uber à des prix très abordables Merci à Ingrid et Bertus !!

Schöner Urlaub in Albufeira
Sehr saubere, schnuckelige Wohnung in ruhiger Lage auf einem Hügel mit romantischer Windmühle am Pool. In 10 min ist man unten am Strand. Altstadt ebenfalls schnell zu erreichen zu Fuss. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt:-).

Nette Wohnung in ruhiger Lage
Die Wohnung ist sehr nett eingerichtet. Es war alles vorhanden. Waschmaschine und Spülmaschine waren wohl lange nicht mehr in Betrieb. Etwas Schimmelbildung vorhanden gewesen. Aber wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Wohnung und der Lage.

Excellent séjour avec un très bel appartement
Un peu de stress à l'arrivée suite à un mail crucial où était noté la procédure d'arrivée avec le codes pour récupérer la clé, qui a été égarer. Heureusement avec l'aide des personnes gérant l'hôtel à proximité et le site Abritel, le problème fut vite réglé... l'appartement est spacieux, propre et très joliment décoré, avec tout le nécessaire pour passer un excellent séjour.

La propriété correspond exactement à la description. Nous avons été enchantés. Seul bémol, l'adresse indiquée pour trouver le lieu ne comportait que la rue et le numéro de bloc mais pas le nom de la résidence alto do moinho...l'accueil de l'hôtel étant fermé le samedi, nous avons dû appeler le propriétaire qui ne nous a pas rappelé de suite,puis demander les clefs au bar de la résidence, sans que cette information ne nous ait été communiquée au préalable. C'était un peu stressant le jour de notre arrivée, mais bien vite oublié et nous avons passé une semaine superbe.
