Even though the AC in the room wasn't working properly, the overhead fan kept us comfortable. The hotel is kept impeccably clean, the staff are extremely friendly & cheerful, there are lots of activities during the day and evening, the food at the restaurants was delicious (I cut my steak with a butter knife it was so tender). Will definitely stay here again.

Everything was stellar, particularly the staff. Natalia, Enrique, Alex and Lucio at the beach bar, Alberto, Alfredo, and Carlos at the buffet, we love you all and can’t thank you enough for your hospitality and making our vacation so wonderful. The property was nice and clean, the food was good. The major issue was check in. The line was long and employees were working at snail pace. We worked up 3-4am in the morning to flew there. Everyone was tired, hungry, and sleepy. What a way to start a vacation with 1 hour waiting in line!

Pros: Tasty and varied food, very friendly staff. Cons: The room is already a bit worn out; the sea is practically absent — just a small fenced-off shallow area; only one swimming pool. Under the pretext of a free introductory breakfast at the Occidental Tucancún hotel, we were subjected to a 2-hour timeshare membership sales presentation. There was also a “free” 3.5-hour sightseeing tour of Cancun, which would most likely turn into a pushy shopping tour, so we didn’t go.
