"This hotel was just okay, in my opinion. The room was very outdated, with old carpet and the shower valve was broken or something because the water came half out the shower and half out the bath spout. The breakfast was great and the location to shopping outlets was also nice. The beds were comfortable enough. I would stay here again, but if you are looking for modern or nice looking this hotel doesn’t impress."

"This is the type of hotel you’d need for getting your head down, nothing more. Very run down hotel and needs a complete upgrade. I’d say it was a 2*, double bed in room however only one chair, wooded floors in bedroom above and every step or creak heard, no room service during our four day stay except to asking if any essentials needed. There are plenty of hotels around with little extra money. The staff were very helpful and there is ample car parking."

"Quiet area, no dedicated parking spot. Under flight path for Edinburgh airport, so could be loud at times. Reasonably clean, lovely welcoming basket. Says suitable for 8, stated 2 bathrooms but only 1 full bath. …really only suitable for 4 adults. States washer and dryer but no electric dryer, just a rack. Amenities, including beds and towels were low quality. There wasn’t enough cutlery for all of us and the pans were burnt. Should be assessed by property owner. "

"The property was just OK. Shower was weak with minimal water flow. Property could use improvements such as adding a step to the sliding patio door (about a 1.5 foot to ground). Sleeps six if you include the couch but only 2 dbl beds and 1 single. No outside photos of property."

"Had a lovely stay at Goose Cottage. We were met on arrival by Lisa who was very helpful with advice about the cottage and local area. She also went to the trouble of looking for local EV chargers for us, which was much appreciated. The cottage had everything that we needed and a nice welcome pack. The creaking stair case made nocturnal trips downstairs interesting but wouldnâ€™t put us off returning. Great location for getting around, The Kelpies and Queensferry only around 30 minutes away by car and Edinburgh is a short train journey which was cheaper than paying for parking. Would happily stay at Goose Cottage again."
