It was hot when we got in the room but AC worked fine. Busy bar restaurant made me think the room would be noisy. It was NOT. New & lovely room. Stayed in bar to watch soccer with many locals.
This property had a great location in Swords. It was a very nice building decorated very well. Would have gave it an excellent rating but our mattress should have been thrown in the garbage probably a 100 guests ago. Literally my side had a huge crater shape that went into the mattress 6” deep full body size. This could not be over looked. Unexceptionable really. Was very clean hotel.
Clean , comfortable room. Close walking distance to many food and shopping places. Only one drawback is lack of onsite parking. Roughly 5 actual parking spots. The lot gets double parked so there is the possibility of being parked in. Other opinions are parking lots are a bit of a walk away or parking on the busy streets.
The Old Borough is a unique hotel. It’s in a 200 year old restored schoolhouse. The rooms are upstairs and a lively (and very inexpensive) pub is on the ground floor. It was a little difficult to figure out where in the busy pub to check in and parking is quite limited. Our room was large and nicely decorated. It’s only about 10 minutes drive to Dublin airport.
Historic and in a comfortable neighborhood.
There are a lot of authentic pubs very close by as well as the one that's part of the hotel. The pub attached to the hotel has a bit less character than the others close by - but is still quite nice. The staff were excellent - but there was one slightly grumpy character.
We were kept awake most of the night by very loud DJ music. Hotel abutted a dance hall or club or something and played until 2:30 in the am. Not good for hotel guests.
