Perfect stay in Cork countryside
Property was absolutely lovely, had everything we needed for the stay - comfortable, warm and cozy over the festive period. Location is spectacular, thoroughly recommend.

It was a pity that the garden was so messy and neglected. Even the beech was littered with old fallen pine branches, an old wheel and a tyre. Too much debris lying around the garden.

An Idyllic Stay
We (2 adults; 2 children) had a wonderful week's stay in Mulroe House. The setting is incredible - beautiful gardens with tables and chairs dotted around for a relaxing read, coffee or al fresco dining and a private pebble beach perfect for exploring and a paddle. The house itself is spacious and well-appointed, with plenty of privacy from the other buildings. Stephanie was a very accomodating host and Buster the friendly pug a real hit with the children. Thank you! We hope to return some time.

Stunning Vista and Property
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Mulroe Cove. The house itself was very tastefully decorated and had plenty of character. The host was lovely and easy to deal with. The main star however was the location and scenic view from the private beach. Coming from London, my children were extremely excited by this and very keen to play in and out of the water as much as possible. I very much hope to be able to go back again soon.

Lovely location- but poor accommodation
Dirty and smelt fusty. Lots of cobwebs, had to wash crockery, cutlery and pans before we used them. Lack of basic cooking utensils, including sharp knives and a sieve. Cold had to ask for the heating to be put on. Even then we had to light a fire to keep warm, had to buy fuel and matches to do so.. Not enough glasses, toilet cistern not working properly. Couldn’t get the TV to work. No hairdryer in the property either. Felt a very unloved property.

I am not quite sure where this is coming from. Certainly it feels incredibly unfair. We have a very professional cleaning team and I myself check the houses after they have been cleaned. One of our last guests' comment upon being shown through the house was how immaculate it is. In terms of unloved property: the whole house has just been repainted / decorated: walls, ceiling, woodwork.... We have been hosts with VRBO for many years and take pride in our rental business. There is no joy in unhappy customers. We live on the same property and always tell guests to let us know if there is any problem, because things can go wrong. The missing glasses were, unbeknownst to us, in the house next door as we had a wedding party who rented the 3 properties, but were promptly returned. However, we weren't told about any of the other complaints. How come?? We are always happy to help and are really close by. Heating oil is not included in the price and is based on a meter reading as is stated on our listing. What is more, the guest was aware of this, but left without paying the heating bill. I messaged them afterwards, but never got a reply. Unfortnately the guests were really unlucky with the weather. They arrived on a Thursday afternoon in glorious sunshine and when I showed them through the property the first thing they asked me was if I could change the weather that had been forecast. It rained solidly for the guests' entire stay and without let up. That is always very disappointing and I wonder did this upset the guests. I am sure it didn't make for the holiday that they hoped they would have. However, a review like this is very disheartening, particularly as we care and love this property which is also our home and is a very special place that we try to never take for granted no matter how long with have lived here. You can't please everybody, but it would be nice if reviews were fair, factual and ultimately truthful. It is nice to know that in the next few weeks we will be hosting guests that have stayed with us every summer for the last 8 years and have been VRBO customers originally.

Wonderful tranquil place
The location is amazing. So peaceful and quiet but in driving distance to some fantastic places. Stephanie could not do enough to help. We had a wonderful week and were very upset to leave!

The Perfect Spot
Stunning location, with an amazing view over the bay that changes throughout the day. We were thrilled to have our own private beach & beautiful grounds to explore, exercise and entertain in. Stephanie, our host was super helpful and amazing at pointing us in the direction of all great things to do right on your doorstep. We very much enjoyed having Buster the Pug as our holiday dog,. A beautiful, relaxing spot for individuals, families & group get togethers, next time we'll look to book out all the houses so our friends can join us in enjoying what this very special place has to offer.

Great spot for water lovers
Great place to recharge the batteries,especially if you are into water sports like us,able to swim every morning before breakfast,just walk out the door and down to the water.Communication with Stephanie the owner was very good.We enjoyed our holiday.

Watching the water and dolphins
This is a truly enchanting property in a magical location. The hostess is very friendy and helpful. The period property is set in the grounds of an old county house but even better is located in a walled garden that leads directly ion to the ocean inlet. Having breakfast overlooking the sea and the countryside on the opposite side of the inlet is as good a start to the any day as you can get. It is so good a start that it could take up the whole day especially if amongst the regular wildlife a pair of dolphins swim up the inlet and then out. The nearby attractions are also very good, with the Irish music good food and Guinness that is a feature of Cork. Pure magic.

Lovely cottage in an amazing location.
The location is absolutely awesome, incredibly peaceful and right by the beach. Our children loved being able to wander to and from the beach to our cottage. The photos don't do justice to the properties. We stayed in Mulroe House and thought it was full of character. We had a really enjoyable stay and hope to return.

Thank you for describing our location and in particular the proximity to the beach so well. We will take better photos. Nearly every guest this year said that our current photos don't do the place justice. And it would be lovely to have you here again.

Lovely waterside property in peaceful surroundings
When the weather is good there is no need to travel anywhere. With the water on our doorstep we could swim and relax on a beach of our own. Thank you Stephanie for being such a friendly hostess.

Ein ganz besonderer Ort
Wir waren zu viert und haben den Aufenthalt im Mulroe House sehr genossen. Es ist sehr gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der offene Kamin ist abends ein schöner Ausgleich dafür, dass man vom Häuschen aus keine Aussicht hat. Der Garten ist riesig. Das Grundstück ist sehr idyllisch und ruhig. Man kann direkt am Strand spazieren gehen und wir durften auch das Kanu nutzen. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Stephanie ist eine sehr freundliche und hilfreiche Gastgeberin.

A small corner of paradise
We chose mulroe house to visit the peninsulas of southern Ireland, which we did. The place is quiet and heavenly, the sea touches the walls of the garden at high tide, a kayak is available to enjoy the bay and our charming hostess gave us a very warm welcome Very want to come back!

Un séjour formidable
Nous avons séjourné 4 jours dans Ce lieu magnifique et Stéphanie nous a réservé un accueil extraordinaire.. Petite confusion sur le site sur ce qu’est  « le studio » par rapport aux autres logements , mais Stéphanie à réagit de façon formidable pour nous satisfaire au mieux...

Klasse Urlaub mit hohem Erholungswert
Wir waren im Bootshaus von Stefanie untergebracht, fantastische Sicht aufs Meer mit deutlicher Flut und Ebbe. War uns noch ein wenig frisch zum Baden ;) Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig an einer Bucht und ist über dem gut zu findenden Waldweg erreichbar. Jeweils in 20 Minuten Autostunden liegt Bantry und Schull wo man Abends gut zum Essen konnte. War sehr schön bei Ihnen liebe Stefanie, Alles Gute an Sie und Ihre Jungs, Gruß Fam. Bomm

Ein tolles Haus in ländlicher Umgebung
Direkt am Wasser gelegen, hörten wir nur Wellen, den Wind und ab und zu ein paar Vögel. Es herrscht dort diese Art von entspannter Stille die wir im hektischen Alltag so oft vermissen. Eine freundliche, herzliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterin, die überdies perfekt Deutsch spricht, direkt um die Ecke in Kombination mit einem wohltuend eingerichteten Haus, da haben wir nichts vermisst. Durrus und Bantry sind praktisch um die Ecke wenn man etwas braucht, aber wir haben unseren Bedarf meistens in den kleinen Läden auf unseren Routen bei den Tagestouren beschafft. Klar, ohne Auto geht nichts! Es gibt atemberaubende Landschaft, kleine idyllische Orte die zum Verweilen einladen und jede Menge Meer und mehr um einen tollen Urlaub zu verbringen. Unsere Empfehlung hat das Haus. Es ist jederzeit wieder eine Reise wert!
