Very welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room, although several stairs to negotiate (up to 3 floor and no lift.) We requested a room with least no. of stairs and they were very accommodating. Great breakfast (extra cost). Within 5 minutes walk of several excellent restaurants and large shopping mall.

This hotel is very nice. It is very conveniently located, just a block from the train and bus stations as well as old city center of Edinburgh. A fine old Edinburgh Town House with spectacular views over the Firth of Forth to Fine. One note of caution, though: no. 36 has no lifts. The exercise did me good, but for some guests this may be an issue. O/w a terrific hotel.
