"Really attractive and nicely furnished converted old building. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was just about perfect. Garai is a lovely village and has two magnificent restaurants within a 10 minute walk, ideal for the tasting menu with accompanying wines. A little fitness is needed as the walk up to the hotel from the car park is quite strenuous and there are a few flights of stairs if you are in one of the upper rooms. "This is a perfectly serviceable airport hotel, one of two major ones very near the Bilbao airport. Fairly basic compared to a "fancy" hotel in the city, and (like 99% of European hotels) lacking washcloths. But, comfy beds, quiet rooms, an excellent breakfast spread, a decent bar, and really a short ride to the city. What's not to love? The airport shuttle starts at 5 a.m. and has limited capacity. But, the staff is well aware of the early morning flight schedule to get everyone there in plenty of time. It's like an 8-minute roundtrip from hotel to terminal. 😎"
