"116room has lovely new decor but 114 looks tired with old traditional furniture in it which should be got rid of as it brings the whole feel of the room down and with the size of the room I think a bigger bed would make a good statement in there .. breakfast was ok but more seeds and fruit would be nice ."

"The room was very clean and tidy, and the view was fantastic, the floor to ceiling windows gave us a very good view of the sea and the Abbey. The best room we have had after the upgrade."

"Very clean rooms, love the free water, tea, coffee and milk ect. Great they give a doggie rug for the fur baby and leave a toy. Love the feel of the place , friendly.. free coffee machine, dog treats, water and ice daily in the lounge and sometimes a cake. Staff are friendly and helpful. Easy to book online and check in. Parking is now £4 per day with a scratch card from the hotel for council parking. Used to be included. Great area for all amenities and beach. Stayed a few times and will return to Scarborough soon"

"Great staff, very well-presented and well-maintained hotel. Genuinely one of the cleanest places I've stayed. Easy walk into town or to the beach. I'm not from the coast and it was wonderful to hear the sea at night."

"We loved our stay here, it was so near to whitby centre. The room was good, a negative is no where to dry towels. We had to ask for more coffee and sugar, as we were staying three nights. We will recomnend a stay at Penny Hedge. Staff could not do enough for us , all very friendly and polite. We will come again now we know of the hotel . Caroline and Laura were helpful , we rang because we could not quite find your location on our sat nav. staff helped us on this matter and then found you quickley. kind regards to all at penny Hedge. "Decor amazing…all finished to a high standard. Facilities were amazing. Comfort was unreal. Best power shower I’ve ever been in and we travel regularly. So chuffed with it we have booked to go again next month! "
