"Stonecross is a lovely old manor house that has been well restored. Quite often these old buildings fall into disrepair because of cost, but my wife and I felt it was really well presented. Stonecross is located close to the M6 but a short drive from The Yorkshire Dales or Lakes. The lobby is spacious and classy feeling with the tickle of piano music in the background. There is parking for around 10 cars with EV charging for three or four. The charging is provided externally by enozzle. 32 rooms are available but the place was quiet. The standard room was bright clean and comfortable with bath and shower. The food is excellent. There is a small but well designed menu for evening meal and drinks are not overpriced. Two alcoholic drinks cost is £12. We had a lovely stay for our anniversary and i would strongly recommend."

"Absolute bargain for what we paid. The triple room had 3 single beds and was spacious and clean. Great walk in shower in bathroom. In Kendal centre. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay again. "

"Travelling with 4 year old daughter, very good stay, stayed for one night to visit family in Kendal, less than 10 mins drive away, large comfortable room, clean and nicely presented, good sized bed and comfortable, shared bed with daughter, large room was unexpected and ideal for her to play, smart decor throughout, didn't eat in bar so can't comment of food but the continental breakfast included although fairly basic was decent and a good selection of options (cooked breakfast you needed to order and separate charge). Small play park outside was also very nice. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. "

"We had our wedding reception at The Eagle & child 17 years ago. We stayed for one night yesterday as a trip down memory lane. The fire was roaring when we went into the pub which was a gorgeous welcome on a grey and rainy day. It feels like a proper pub- friendly staff and locals. Love the quirky decor with all sorts of random objects that have been collected. The lighting make it feel cosy. We sat all afternoon chatting and drinking. We went up to our room which was spotless and tastefully decorated. All we needed for a nights stay. We then ate in the pub - fantastic gourmet burger!! and stayed for the weekly Thursday club which was good fun. An excellent stay, perfect pub and highly recommend the accommodation. Thank you "

"Excellant breakfast choice and period of which this was great. Gym facitilities were ok but not all appeared to be in working order. Cleaan pool. Jacuzzi, steam roon and sauna. Grounds were nice and well kept."

"We are returning to this stunning hotel for the 3rd time and love it here. Great service from staff they were able to give us a double room after we booked twin room available via hotels.com which was great. The food is amazing, fish and chips is a definite go to, and 2nd night we had a 3 course meal closer to fine dining with famtastic quality. Spa services were great we used both pool and steam room which work perfectly to feel fully relaxed. I have used the gym facilities in the past and they are more than enough to have a good workout. Overall, we will definitely be back again. I strongly recommend this hotel for 2 or 3 nights. Make sure you use the full range of the facilities provided."
