"Wow! We liked everything about our stay. The directions were spot on (not always easy in the UK) and the on -site parking was an added bonus. The location is walking distance to The Valley of Rocks in Exmoor National Park, and to the super cute “Old Town” area of Lynton. Our room was spacious and stocked with everything we needed to feel like we were in a deluxe hotel. My husband was especially impressed by the complimentary cake. Superb breakfast, which is made to order with many options. Wonderful hosts, we felt very welcomed and taken care of. Would not hesitate to stay here again!"
Highcliffe House

"Highcliffe House has a magical blend of location (impressive views in a charming ‘seaside’ town close to top restaurants and desirable trail heads), ambience (Victorian charm and elevated decor) and comfort (luxurious linens, heavenly beds, good-sized rooms with lots of extra touches). Add to that Richard and Robert’s warm hospitality and, of course, the scrumptious breakfasts and you have a must-experience destination. As a solo traveller, I particularly appreciated the thoughtful, attentive service. Richard took a genuine interest in making sure I experienced the very best of the Lynton and Lynmouth area, offering excellent suggestions for dining and helping me weave must-do activities into my stay. Just as importantly, my dining table and room assignment were top notch. My five nights at Highcliffe House were exceptional and a highlight of my UK adventure."

"An initial, disappointing start to our stay was quickly remedied, quietly, politely and professionally. From then on everything was so much better. The Hotel is probably a little understaffed (a reflection of the economic strains of current hospitality?) so often a Team member had to be searched out but once found were polite, attentive and friendly. Our room, a late booking so limited choice, was compact but nevertheless comfortable with an excellent rain shower in the bathroom and a good view of the river. We found a delightful lounge on the first floor from which we could watch the world go by as the river ebbed and flowed whilst enjoying the occasional glass of beer, or two!! Dinner on each night was a lovely occasion in a stylish dining room, well cooked food, nicely presented and served by delightful staff."
