The steam room and sauna were barely warm, and the room temperature could not be adjusted, making it uncomfortably hot at times. It felt like the property was prioritizing energy savings over guest comfort."

"This property is an old palace in the middle of the ancient historic town. If you are driving to it, you will be using narrow streets shared by diners, people walking, and possibly other cars. Once you reach the piazza Duomo it gets tricky and you will need some help. Make sure they know you are coming."

"Great location, not too far from Matera Centrale and the piazza is just round the corner. The room is clean, with coffee and tea provided. The breakfast spread is excellent, especially the pastries. "

However, guests should know that because the hotel is literally incorporated into the caves, it can be physically demanding climbing all the stone stairs. People with mobility issues will definitely struggle at this hotel"
