"If you’re looking for a truly unique and memorable experience. I highly recommend staying at Casale di Maria in Matera. Domenica goes above and beyond with her attentive and welcoming service. She offers great tips on getting around town, where to go, and the best restaurants to try. It was an unforgettable stay - unlike any other hotel I’ve visited."
"I have been traveling for 5 months and this hotel was by far my favorite! I was blown away by the attention to detail, the powerful ritual and symposium and the incredible heated pool surrounded by replicas of goddesses. The couples’ massage was wonderful and the staff and experience couldn’t have been better. Mindblowingly great! We loved it! "
"Matera is breathtaking! Cenobio Hotel is elegance at it’s finest. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and accommodating. Recommend this place 100%!"
"Very well located, in the center área, cars not allowed but paid parking is within walking distance. Friendly staff and city is a must see. Different from everything I have ever seen."
"Beautiful hotel in the perfect location if you want to be right in the Sassi di Matera. Great restaurants and shops nearby, staff were all very friendly. "
"Giuseppe and his staff are really kind and wonderful, I will definitely come back! :) It’s also very close to the Sassi and museums. I can really vouch for it, definitely. "
"Very enthusiastic young couple who own this beautifully restored historic house in a perfect location to visit the town of Matera. They did not speak much English, but whipped out their google translate for a very lively and enjoyable visit, including an amazing full breakfast of local produce."

Palazzo Viceconte
10/10 Excellent
"Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of magnificent! From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIPs! The staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and professional every moment of our stay. The location is outstanding, the views amazing and the rooftop terrace was something right out of a dream.
Our room offered every luxurious convenience while also exuding the elegance and history of this magnificent hotel. It sits at the highest spot in Matera so every window offers a million dollar view.
I wish we had stayed longer and I will never forget the magical experience Matera gave us. "
"Beautiful hotel, great location right in the middle of everything. Walking is not easy but that’s the nature of Matera. Great sauna, pretty pool. Excellent breakfast! Highly recommend! "
"The hostess at Casa Diva communicated with us beautifully. The hotel is charming and very close to a car park, important because visiting Matera involves carrying luggage over stoned streets and stairs. We would love to come back. We stayed in the Junior Suite, one of the few that is air conditioned, and were very comfortable."
"Excellent stay- very friendly & professional staff in a beautiful area. Only caveat is getting to the hotel- tough to find a taxi nearby or the small van that services the “Sassi” area. "
"Staying in a cave room but having an entryway in the room with windows out on the gorgeous Matera scenery is perfect. We also had a porch with chairs to sit outside. The breakfast was amazing! Fresh and delicious food served to us by the most welcoming people you could ask for, Angela and Agnese. We also had a wonderful piano player, Gianni, at breakfast every day - now that's a first for us!. If we went back to Matera, which we hope to do some day, we would stay here again. The only negative is WiFi is not reliable in our room. Unfortunately across all of southern Italy our 5g T-mobile plan didn't work either so we used physical maps. We stayed a week and so were able to see a lot of this magnificent area. Most people only stay two or three nights and I feel that is not enough. "
