"The room was very comfortable, the staff cleaned and re-stocked the room daily. Location was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing, good variety and plenty too. Plenty of parking Will definitely be looking to stay here again ."

"Oakhil is a very nice smallish, homely hotel in beautiful grounds and countryside. We stayed in an ex carriage room so a bit dark but comfy. Main schandaliers wouldn't turn on to give more light. Food outweighs any minor complaint, as evening menu was varied and delicious. Breakfast was good but not memorable. If you're looking for a hotel near Matlock etc, try this one. It's good value, comfortable with yummy food."

"Tim the owner was friendly and helpful. The room had just about every amenity required & was spacious and comfortable. The house was quirky and atmospheric. Breakfast was excellent. I know we are in the minority probably but we would have preferred ' ordinary ' bread rather than the posh stuff. If you have been to Wirksworth we would recommend it as a quirky, friendly town."
