"It is a beautiful family owned and run hotel with friendly staff and an outstanding restaurant. The lake view rooms provide a beautiful view of both the lake and church. The rooms are comfortable s and clean. Gougane Barra is my family’s favorite place in Ireland. "

"Lovely and charming hotel. Our room was beautiful and the view and location is 5 stars all the way! The breakfast staff were a little snooty but the rest were absolutely wonderful. Be sure to go into the cute town of Kilmare nearby. I would have spent more time there if I’d known about it."

"Stylish, comfortable mattress, pleasant staff. Breakfast is super stingy, Scrooge would approve. Even the smallest B&Bs provide a full fry so it's reasonable to expect it from the expensive enough hotel like this one. Not enough space or staff to run breakfast, had to eat from a napkin due to no plates being available. Nothing is being replenished, once it's gone is gone, even if it's 9am and breakfast runs until 11. Hot options - sc Lastly, no air conditioner. As pretty as the bathroom and...
