"My family enjoyed our stay here. Was happy that we could park in the lot before check in. It's a convenient short walk to the strip. We enjoyed the shaded patio next to the creek, the indoor pool section was just like the photos, and breakfast was good although you do have to pay for it. We had also eaten dinner there and the pizza and fried ravioli bites were delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Now I understood you do get what you pay for so wasn't expecting much, the actual rooms were pretty outdated and I didn't really think it through getting a room by the pool- was very wet mildewy smell as soon as you walk in and the curtains have to be shut unless your okay with everyone seeing in."

"Room was mostly clean--we did notice that the carpet didn't appear to be vacuumed well in the room. Carpeting in the hallways was definitely worn and it smelled musty on the 8th floor. Bathroom appeared to be clean for us. We didn't ask for housekeeping during our short stay. Breakfast was just ok. Nothing that looked decent to us, so we elected not to eat there and instead just made coffee in our room. The fireplace in the room did not work. We didn't bother asking the front desk clerk because we decided to go out instead. Location is pretty good. Parking was adequate however we were not aware of the parking fee when booking so that was a surprise when we checked into the hotel. We did receive emails but they went to spam so we didn't see them prior to check in. That should be more clearly noted. We may have selected another location considering that as there are plenty of locations to stay. Hot tub was really hot. Overall the room was fine, but with the flaws noted above. Not sure we would stay here again as we might try somewhere that is a bit newer/updated for our next trip to Gatlinburg."

"I didn’t bring up the following shortfalls to the hotel staff at checkout because, a lot of times these type of things tend not to be addressed due to multiple reasons. Extremely loud and non efficient hvac unit. Room furniture very dusty and almost coming off its hinges (door that concealed the refrigerator). Balcony flooring could use some touch up paint. Housekeeping was asked to return in 15-20 minutes (at around 9:30) and never did all day. Called the front desk with no response to our request for cleaning or follow up. Next day still no housekeeping visit. Had to physically go down to the front desk and ask for it. $18 parking fee, which is a little much considering the size of the parking lot which is enormous. Should just have guest hang the parking permit on car mirror and that would let security know you’re a guest. Hotel is extremely quiet and far enough away from the main strip that it makes your stay easier. Staff is very friendly and helpful so the shortfalls were not that horrible."

"The Hillside Hideaway was an awesome cabin! Quaint & cozy to help us celebrate our 50th anniversary month! We've been coming to Gatlinburg for over 40 yrs & have stayed in many places, but this was one of the nicest! Everything you would need! Right on the major road, so very easy access to Gatlinburg, Ober Gatlinburg & of course the GSMNP! Loved the deck, listening to tunes on the outside TV, while relaxing in the hot tub! My only complaint was myself, being short, & having new knee replacements..had a bit of troible getting into the high bed. Lol! But, I managed. Maybe a small step stool to help us shorties. Also...we enjoyed seeing our daily visitor, whom must have a home on the hillside. Would use the side steps...so BEWARE & ALERT. They won't bother you, if you don't bother them..the "Big Fluffly Dogs". Would definitely recommend this cabin! "

"This home was fantastic. It’s quiet, incredibly secure, and very easy to get to. The location is perfect—close enough to town for quick trips, yet far enough away to feel peaceful and private. The property was spotless and well-equipped. We will definitely be back! Appreciate Walter's hospitality. Highly recommended!"

"We had a great stay at the cabin! The hot tub and deck had beautiful views, and the house was very cozy. The location was great- not too far from town, but enough space that we weren’t on top of any neighbors. We also had few bear sightings from the house- all in all, would happily return! "
