Find out more about Red Bank

Red Bank and its attractions for beach lovers

While Red Bank itself doesn’t offer direct beach access, it serves as a charming gateway to nearby coastal delights. Just a short drive away, you’ll find the picturesque sandy shores of Sandy Hook, where families can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and a wealth of outdoor activities, including biking along scenic trails. Head to the nearby Monmouth Beach for a more tranquil experience, where the gentle waves create a perfect backdrop for a family picnic or building sandcastles with the kids. In Red Bank, explore the vibrant arts scene at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, where you might catch a live show after a day at the beach. The local dining scene is equally inviting, with waterfront restaurants that serve fresh seafood, allowing you to unwind after a sun-soaked day. For accommodations, look for hotels nestled along the Navesink River, providing a picturesque setting and easy access to both the beach and the town's boutique shops. Enjoying a stay in this area means balancing beach time with cultural experiences, making it a fulfilling retreat for families seeking quality and convenience.

10/10 Excellent
"Had a great stay mid week in August. Everything was excellent from check in to check out. Room was clean and comfortable. Ate breakfast twice in restaurant. Food was good, only complaint was that the bread used for toast was not good. Left an after taste. Would definitely stay here again in the future!"

Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel

Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Our first stay of 3 nights at the Berkeley was really nice. An older, but updated motel (small bathroom), with a good location just across the street from the boardwalk and beach was convenient. Great not to have to haul beach gear too far. Be advised that you need to purchase beach passes each day. There are boardwalk shops and restaurants close by too. A couple of criticisms, though nothing to keep me from returning: free coffee in the morning in the lobby was really watery. Before you run off to their little cafe to buy a better cup, note that the cafe’s regular coffee seemed the same to me! Note that walls are pretty thin. The kids zooming in/out didn’t bother us. Night was quiet. Parking is valet only or you rough it on the streets with pay parking. Two zones nearby: one was $3/hr, the further one, $1/hr. I was irritated by the arrangement at their pool: not only are all cabanas rental, the rest of the areas around the perimeter that have a “sail style” shade canvas are also rental only. Far too much rental space. The free pool lounges/umbrellas, in the middle around the pool deck, are fine. In all, I thought our stay worked out well."

10/10 Excellent
"The staff was extremely helpful with any questions I had. The room was clean. They were packed on several of the days I stayed and stilled seemed to keep everything organized and the breakfast bar as full as possible for all the customers. If we reported something, like the coffee was empty, they fixed it immediately!!! I would stay here again no questions asked!!!"

Extended Stay America Suites Red Bank Middletown

Extended Stay America Suites Red Bank Middletown

8/10 Good
"The best part, this hotel is often very quiet, in a very quiet spot, the windows do a great job at blocking the outside sounds, and it's located in the best spot possible, 5 to 15min drive to all the useful things (downtown Red Bank, shopping plazas, multiple beaches, etc.) The kitchen is the main feature for these ESOA, unfortunately the kitchens in these units are ran down and not maintained well. In the most part because guests don't treat the hotel rooms as their own, they go with the mindset of ''it's not mine I don't care'', or ''I pay for it, I can do whatever I want" or simply "I don't care if the people who come after find it destroyed or damaged".. as much as the hotel can do to keep up it will be an uphill battle. That said the hotel staff is always friendly and courteous and some of them you can tell do want to make your stay better. But the management needs to do better in keeping the kitchens in a proper shape, though most are not. The breakfast, could be improved, even for a grab and go, this is the worst possible breakfast amongst what hotels do offer. Coffee is bad, and the two option snacks - a muffin or a grain bar- are mediocre (again another good reason to have a good functioning kitchen so you can prepare your own good breakfast and proper coffee). Thank you to the staff for trying, the owners/management should try better, and the guests should be better humans."
