Wonderful property - we stayed here twice during our trip and both times we had a great stay. The staff were very accommodating with our questions and requests as well. Note that if you’re bringing large luggage parking can be a bit of a challenge but regardless it is definitely still worthwhile staying here!

Just needed a place to lay my head for a night after hiking the Laugavegur trail. Office staff kept my large bag fro me for a few hours while I walked around Reykjavik, which I appreciated.

The location was fantastic. Check in was easy. Staff seemed to come in regularly and take out the trash and tiddy up the bathrooms. The couch for the third person to sleep on was awful. There was a lot of mold in the shower and the drain didn’t work well. You had to continually shut the water off during your shower so it didn’t flood the bathroom. Staff was notified and they were able to have maintenance clean the drain the following day. Customer service was good. Overall, the location was worth the stay.

Lovely place to stay!

Really great stay at Nordurey guesthouse. It’s very comfortable and clean and the rooms are modern and recently decorated. The location is very convenient and we found parking very easily. The kitchen is so handy and has everything you would need. I would stay here again if I came to Reykjavik

Shared kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed for meals. One bathroom per floor of 3 rooms so there were people from other floors coming to ours to use the bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was hot!

The room was big and the bed was comfortable. If you are a light sleeper like myself then the traffic road noise maybe an issue. We physically checked in at 10 pm and left at 4 AM to leave for the airport.

Was a very peaceful place to return back to every night. Had good free street parking for our rental car. Very walkable to downtown Reykjavik. Nice kitchen. Clean. Only had problems with consistent internet. Otherwise, a great place at a reasonable price.

We loved our stay at the guesthouse, from the convenient location to the coffee maker in the kitchen. It had everything we needed at a good price. Customer service really helped us out by checking to see if we could drop our bags off a few hours earlier than the regular check-in time. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and seating area. When we rented a car at the last minute, we had no trouble finding free parking. We would definitely stay here again!

Modern and Good location

Modern rooms and kitchen. Not too far from the city centre and easy to walk to. They allowed us to enter early to drop off our bags which was a massive bonus otherwise we would have been stuck with them most of the afternoon. There was no front desk and we had to phone to gain entrance codes but not sure how else we would have got in as they weren't sent in advance

Clean and convenient stay near Reykjavik. Easy to walk to the main downtown. Convenient facilities and amenities. Even though the bathrooms were shared there was never a wait and they were clean. The available kitchen and laundry room was convenient. The room could use some updates and fixes. The bedroom light fixture was hanging by the electrical wires, the flooring had water damage, the back door had a visible gap to outside and the apple TV was missing a HDMI cable so the TV did not work.

Would recommend for traveling on a budget

Very pleasant experience. No contact needed. All the instructions given ahead of time. Felt very comfortable finding the property. Everything as described. Good backup for your money. And free parking was always available near the property. Kitchen had everything you need to cook, coffee was provided free or charge.

Property experience was good: Pros: Availability of kitchen and dining. Easy for families with kids. Easy access to city centre. Cons: No toiletries and no mention that they won’t be available Noisy road and traffic keeps you awake. People struggle to enter the property if they don’t contact the owner in advance. For us it was smooth since we received the details after sending an email two days in advance.
