While the building is beautiful and the views are lovely, the location is truly disappointing. There is nothing to do in the area. There are no beaches, there are no local restaurants, no amenities for families and no sense of culture or charm. Everything is overpriced. Everything. Food, everyday essentials, sun cream, laundry. Everything. To give you a sense of the pricing, a bottle of sun cream costs €17.95. This bottle should cost €5. That's 3x more expensive than it should be. The same for pharmacy medicines, souvenirs, toilet roll, washing up liquid, etc, etc.
It's like staying at a theme park. All the shops and restaurants price themselves at a ludicrous markup and tourists don't have a choice unless they rent a car (which was €130 per day in February).
So, unless you just want to stay in your hotel the hotel and eat overpriced British food the whole time and you don't have any children with you, I would really avoid this resort or any of the resorts in the area around El Guincho, San Blas or Los Abrigos.
