"Great base for a holiday on the island, with nice walks to beaches, pubs and local shops near by. The accommodation is well kept and has everything someone self catering would need. The reception staff were great to deal with and really helpful. Very happy with our stay."

"Wonderful staff, lovely rooms, and a beautiful property. We stayed in the "China" room. An excellent choice as an upgrade over a "basic" hotel. The included breakfast was generous and there is a private members-bar on site that we were able to visit in the evening to chat with locals. "

"If you use a wheelchair make sure you state this when booking. Accessible suites are only available on the 2nd floor and the lift does not go to the third floor. We were on the third so we had some steps to use and drag the chair up. An access ramp is at the side of the building but, if you cannot do stairs, you have to wheel through the outside bar patio in the front, into the back of the bar, through the restaurant and out into the lobby. Very small lift as well if you have a lot of baggage and a wheelchair. Make sure you order your meals AT THE BAR. We were not told this at check in (although they made a reservation for us at the restaurant they neglected to mention we had to go to the bar to order) and we sat for 15 minutes waiting to flag a server! The hotel itself was nice (we had adjoining rooms) and rooms were clean and comfortable. It was very noisy though as you are on a main road (lots of motor bikes!), noise from the patio at the bar and noise from people entering and leaving the building. I'm not sure we would stay there again, but it was great experience staying at an historical building right on the Ryde seafront. "

"It was clean and comfortable. The bed could have been more comfortable with a more up to date mattress but it was ok for the two nights. The only thing I would recommend is perhaps adding some extra cushions as the headboard were metal bars. This would make it far more comfortable to be able to lie in bed at night and watch the TV. The front desk people are fine but a little more enthusiasm when having a new guest to stay wouldn’t go amiss. Breakfast was great. Hot and cooked just right. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall a great stay for the price. Would definitely come back"

Short but sweet

"We booked in for 3 nights after spending 4 nights at a Haven site in Weymouth earlier in the week and despite the inclement weather had a wonderful stay. The hosts were great, the accommodation was perfect for our needs with two dogs. Thank you Brian & Debbie for a wonderful but short stay - hope to be back in the bear future "
