"Five stars based on the strength of value and service. The staff were helpful and friendly, hot food on breakfast buffet was well attended and refilled. The building does show age, and wear and tear. Our amenities worked, the fridge was a bit noisy. But given the nightly price, my wife and I felt we got what we paid for and more. I'll repeat, the staff was helpful."

"We booked a two-queen suite with a kitchenette for a 2-night stay. Overall, the property was decent and the location is convenient — just a short drive from the South Lake Tahoe area. That said, we ran into several issues during our stay that the hotel management could really improve on: No paper towels or napkins provided. When a room comes with a kitchen, basic supplies like paper towels and napkins should be included. The hotel did not provide any and declined our request. This wasn't mentioned anywhere during booking or on the website. Broken flush tank. The toilet flush tank was not working when we arrived. It seems no one inspected the room before check-in — we had to report it ourselves. No phone in the room, which made it difficult to reach the front desk. Poor lighting throughout. The room was very dimly lit and uncomfortable to use in the evenings. Poorly placed, hazardous lamps. The lamps were positioned carelessly and could easily cause injury. Room heater not working. We were given a plug-in space heater as a replacement. It worked, but a functioning built-in heater should be standard, especially in a cold climate like Tahoe. Housekeeping refused. When we asked for the beds to be made and fresh towels, we were told it's against hotel policy to service rooms unless the stay is 3 nights or longer. Again, this policy was never mentioned during booking or on the website. They only agreed after I pushed back on it."

"Our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception staff who checked us in were unfriendly and came across as rude. The room did not include a microwave, and after multiple requests and discussions, one was eventually provided; however, it appeared to be a very low-quality unit. The room also had a strong, unpleasant odor, which forced us to keep the door open for ventilation. In addition, the room remained uncomfortably warm even with the air conditioning thermostat set to its lowest temperature. Considering we paid more than $900 for a three-night stay, it was frustrating to see such a lack of basic amenities and attention to guest comfort. The overall experience fell well below our expectations for the price."

"In fairness, the room was clean and the location was great however the shower area was dripping from the second floor and we were not able to take a shower even if it stopped because we were not sure where the water was coming from. It happened early in the morning when we were getting ready. I reported it to the receptionist but even if they will fix it, there was no point because we are leaving. It feels like I did not get my money’s worth. I understood that it is just an isolated issue but I really hope that they will give us somewhat a refund or something to compensate."
