Small Islands of Venice Ski Holidays

We spent four nights in a double room with breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and exactly as we would have expected for this hotel. Breakfast was quite good but as a small hotel lacked some of the breadth of options that might be found in larger establishments. The extra charging for egg orders was a shame. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The best thing about the hotel is its excellent location. It is situated on side of the canal in Cannaregio, close to three stops (Tre Archi, Crea, Guglie) that give access to the wonderful vaporetto boats and the Alilaguna to and from the airport. We actually chose to arrive by shared water taxi which delivered us to the Tre Archi stop right outside the hotel. Cannaregio is a great area to stay as it is much quieter than most of the city which remains within easy reach on foot or by boat. The quiet canals to the north of the hotel and the Jewish Ghetto area are a great place for a stroll. If we come back to Venice we almost certainly stay here again.

Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was amazing with a huge variety of food and they had gluten and dairy free options for me. Grabbed a gondola ride right outside the hotel. Not too far to walk to St Mark's, etc.

Beautiful hotel, steeped in history set in an incredible central location very close to St Marks Square. Fantastic staff and service, with the property itself like a museum. The reason for the low rating is the misleading marketing of the hotel. Despite pictures on the hotels website and featured on Expedia, depicting a wonderful roof terrace overlooking the water - this is not available unless a specific suite is booked or private event organised. Also, whilst the hotel is very well located for private airport transfers, this is not included in the price of the booking (upwards of €150+ each way), which again we felt is incorrectly depicted on Expedia (Expedia did provide a level compensation when this was raised).
