I have been here now a couple of times...and on both occasions I have enjoyed my stay. The staff are friendly & helpful..the rooms are very good. The right size enabling me to work & relax without feeling crushed & having to squeeze by the bed.
The bar is a bit quite in the evenings but the hotel is so close to the rest of Ballsbridge that it is more a place to relax at the end of the evening.
All in all very good & would recommend to business & people staying in Dublin on holiday..
First time visitor to Dublin. This hotel is great. It is an older hotel but the rooms are very modern and comfortable. I wanted a quiet hotel so I chose to stay a short way from the city center. It is a very brief walk to public transport to city center. The staff was very helpful. I also enjoyed that the hotel provided tangible rewards to the guests for participating in energy conservation efforts. For those that drive, there is on site parking.

Dublin's friendliest 3 Star*** Hotel. For over 50 years customers have returned time and again to experience the warm and …More
We enjoyed our stay and were pleased with our room. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and proved the information we required. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to our friends.
stayed here for one night, was very pleased with everything, room was comfortable and very clean, with bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities, it was a warm night and a fan in the room would have been useful. we had food in the bar and it was excellent, this hotel met all our needs and I would stay here again.
Friendly, helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Personally I would like tea/ coffee facilities in room, but complimentary tea arrived via room service very quickly with delicious home baked cookies! Breakfast menu was simple& food excellent , service friendly & efficient. Unfortunately the floor of the room above creaked when the occupants moved, around 6 am & as late as 10/11pm. This was irritating . Also found the policy of leaving the key & having to ring the doorbell every time we popped out a bit annoying as well. However we would be happy to stay again!
Lets start with a minor negative, as it's the only one. The room was somewhat bijou. Now the positives - it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we required. A pleasant walk from central Dublin. We didn't bother with breakfast, so can't comment on the food or bar.
Leafy Ballsbridge is a quiet and exclusive residential area, a 20-30 minute walk into town (served by frequent buses). The Grand Canal flows through it, and while much of this waterway is less than grand, there is a pleasant stretch near the Richmond Street bridge with canal-side pubs. George Bernard Shaw’s birthplace is a popular neighbouring attraction.
