Room was somewhat dated in decoration and bathroom facilities. Significant noise from adjacent construction site from 8am.
Staff seemed rather disinterested when listening to our feedback on the rooms.
Check in was simple and easy. The Dubliner pub is accommodating, but not much 'pub food', it's more the restaurant food, which is wonderful, but sometimes more than what's needed.
The room was very nice, beds comfortable enough and everything was clean.
From the start to the finish of our stay it was nothing but pleasant. Arrived on a day while the football game was down the street- extremely busy, but all staff were pleasant . We were able to park our car, & went for breakfast & on returning our room was ready a head of check in- which was great because we wanted to have a little nap & clean up before we went out to explore the city. The young gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful with maps & directing us downtown. Full included breakfast was excellant with again friendly staff. Lounge staff were also friendly, we didn't actually eat there but were able to get a drink to take to our room, the next night we were able to get chicken wings even though they were closing soon.
Leafy Ballsbridge is a quiet and exclusive residential area, a 20-30 minute walk into town (served by frequent buses). The Grand Canal flows through it, and while much of this waterway is less than grand, there is a pleasant stretch near the Richmond Street bridge with canal-side pubs. George Bernard Shaw’s birthplace is a popular neighbouring attraction.
