We travelled across southern Ireland. And this was by far the nicest room that we got. We were on a budget our entire trip including when we booked our room. This was somehow the cheapest hotel in Killarney! the room was big, it had a nice decor and a beautiful bathroom. We did not take advantage of it but if you stay there you can use the pool facilities at their sister hotel! This hotel left a very good impression on us!
"A Good Commercial Hotel ... But A Commercial Hotel"
The Lake Hotel is a somewhat standard four-star commercial hotel, best adapted to up-market bus tours. It wouldn't be a four-star hotel to charm a more demanding or experienced traveler: it lacks character. So it depends upon one's perspective, for some a very good standard of what they would take for luxury, for others a big box hotel without soul. Rooms are very comfortable. Dining room isn't bad, but very bus tour standard. Service is OK but not more. The site is splendid: what a shame this isn't an absolutely first rate hotel!
This is the third time my wife and I have stayed at the hotel and we, once again, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is superbly well equipped, with breathtakingly stunning views. The lakeside room we stayed in was stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were lovely, and were attentive, friendly and very approachable.
We enjoyed an excellent buffet breakfast on each of the two mornings of our stay, as part of an inclusive package deal. This represented excellent value for money.

Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa is Ireland's multiple award winning five star luxury resort that overlooks the Lakes of …More
Stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice with a comfortable bed. Unfortunately no location can be perfect. The beautiful lake and the lovely Torc waterfalls are a few miles from town. This hotel is just a ten minute walk from town. The disadvantage is it is not quite in town (but at least not too far). The advantage is it is closer to some of the natural beauty than some of the other hotels. The lobby is nice with comfortable couches. I recommend renting a bike or a car to get around. Also take a tour as they are very good.
