"If location is everything then this places THE place to stay. 24 hour bar renter /front desk. Not fancy, bare basics with a bathroom/toilet that’s shared with one of the rooms.Hot showers and an old classic look of a pub that rents out basic clean rooms. "The minute I walked in I spotted the huge yellow cat meandering the floor. I panicked, I am deathly (epi shot) allergic to cats. Then we were led up the narrow stair case to our room and I nearly cried. Many weeks and seven hotels throughout Europe and this one was UGLY. Think motel 6 1970’s at 40x the cost. But. It was the most comfortable bed and pillow of anywhere we had stayed. The location is amazing. And the desk people were really nice. Four days and I think all the maid ever did was drop...

"You're literally right next to the Reijksmuseum among other attractions. It's a cheap room to pass out in after a day of doing the actual fun stuff. "

"DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst hotel experience of my life. Upon check in at the Kebab Shop (don't ask), we were taken to a neighbouring building, a building being used to house carwash workers. We were then taken through the workers living room, through scary corridors, into a dump of a room. Toilets/showers were disgusting, with used razors being left around, along with other gross toiletries. We knew this was one of the cheaper places to stay but I can't believe how bad it really was. "The hotel was in a great location to visit Amsterdam- near a metro station and also walking distance from canals and bridges. Breakfast was not a huge spread, but enough to take you through to lunch. Rooms were clean and (private) bathroom fairly modern. The stairs were extremely steep so be careful if you’re bringing large suitcases with you! Staff extremely friendly and helpful. A great place to stay and the layout downstairs makes it easy to meet other tourists."

"STAY AWAY!!! The place is a dump. There was actual poo on the floor in the restroom off the lobby. When we told them we couldn't stay because if was such a dump, they refused to refund ANY of our money even though we never stayed there. "

"Hotel location is good. Shower room had damp on the walls. Previous guests had written on the walls in the bathroom. This has never been removed. One message read 'Denzo 2014'! Hotel is noisy. Condition of the hotel seems as if it hadn't been decorated for many years. We were charged before arrival. We expected to pay on arrival. No hot water in wash basin. Condition of carpet on stairs is threadbare. Bed was unstable."
