"We had a wonderful time in these smart Shepherdâ€™s huts. Such a good idea to have two! They are well equipped and are nestled in woodland on the edge of the hostâ€™s garden. "Great location and beautiful garden with views across the hills. Spotlessly clean and well maintained with all the things you may need for your holiday. The caretakers were very friendly and helpful and cared about us and the property with pride. Local supermarkets, petrol station and IKEA were only a mile down the road plus a five minute walk from the property was a pub serving food and an excellent fish n chips shop! Buses into town from outside the chippy were every 10 minutes or sooner!"

"Room was clean, steam room, sauna and pool was nice. Restaurant was nice but breakfast not recommended."

"As others have mentioned, the hotel does look a little dated, but it is clean, which is the most important thing. For most guests, it's simply a place to sleep for the night rather than somewhere to spend extended periods of time. The staff on check-in Saturday were quite abrupt. They weren't rude, but they lacked the customer-focused approach you would normally expect in a customer-facing role. In contrast, the staff on Sunday were absolutely superb and made me feel like a VIP. The English breakfast buffet was decent and certainly sets guests up well for the next leg of their journey. Continental breakfast options are also available. However, the hotel signage advertised breakfast at £12.50 per person, yet I was charged £15.00. Similarly, the official website currently advertises free parking, but I was charged £20 (£10 per 24 hours). The increase in breakfast cost and the unexpected parking charge didn't affect my budget, but I can understand why many guests would find this frustrating. If the advertised prices and parking information are no longer accurate, they should be updated accordingly. I would stay again if I had to, but it would not be my first choice."

"Excellent hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Rooms were glorious. I’d recommend rooms 203-207 ish as they all have a generous shared balcony that backs on to the Thames at the back of the hotel. Only slight downside was beds were a touch hard but still very nice."
