Great location in central Edinburgh. All the staff were very helpful and really nice. I liked the option to work in the bar where there are plenty of handy plugs for charging computers etc. The overall ambience is great.

The TV remote didn't work and when i raised this they came back with new batteries and it still didn't work. The coffee machine didn't work properly, and there were coffee cups. There was also no kettle to boil water for the teas provided. The heating was not responsive and it was cold in the room. When this was raised they brought a small very loud portable electric heater. They did give us complimentary 'milk and cookies' which felt a little childish. The staff weren't rude, the room was quite quirky and the shower was good. It just didn't feel like value for money.

Had to wait quite a while to get checked in and some people who arrived after me got served before me Could do with a dedicated reception desk but difficult due to location of bar Desperate for toilet but someone was messing about in there and couldn’t gain access as very small Despite pre-paying booking, asked to provide credit card (not told what for) and was charged again which is still to be resolved as hotel and hotels.com each blaming each other and still waiting for assistance 3/4 days later

This was the most unique hotel experience. They left a beautiful note for us. The room was small, but we focused on the experience of it and how uniquely decorated it was.
