get what you pay for ultimately. the place is pretty tiny. wardrobe takes like 1 shirt and 1 pair of trousers. IT IS very handy for all the university based fringe venues. the only complaint is the horrible thin and spring loaded mattress. i have no idea how the students cope with these during term time. We had to get drunk every night! :)))

It's student halls, but not cheap. The bed was awful, springs digging into my back and a very cramped space. Bathroom not clean, shower shelf falling off. Had to buy shower gel/shampoo as only 1 small bar of soap and a sample packet of shampoo were provided. Staff clearly used to dealing with students rather than guests. Paper thin walls, if the bed didn't keep me awake the noise certainly did. Only nice thing was the kitchen, but again, nothing provided, had to go out to buy coffee. This would be acceptable (barely) if this was a budget option, but at over £100 per night you would expect much much better.

Great option! Wow I wish I had a dorm room like this when I was in uni! Very safe and secure building, double bed (not the most comfortable, but it’s a dorm room), private bathroom with shower, everything was great! Awesome location too!

The place is what you would expect from Student housing. It was quite clean and modern. Good value for the money, especially during Fringe. It was a bit noisy in the evenings and the bed/bedding was not comfortable, other than that, the place is a good budget friendly location.

Perfect for the Fringe
Perfect for the Fringe - cheap, central, yes it feels like being a student again but for us that added to the fun. Loved having the equipped kitchen, the communal table tennis and pool table, but the privacy of an en suite. Not particularly noisy and felt very secure. It’s not a plush getaway but if you plan on being active it’s perfect. Would definitely use this place again :-)

Very clean, but you get what you pay for
The rooms and halls are very clean and the kitchen areas are also kept clean every day. The location was great for the fringe festival and getting into the city. Prices were quite high for what you get, but really good for fringe time of year. I also had a really nice view from my window. However, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the room was very noisy. I had asked for a room on a high floor in a quiet area as I am a light sleeper. Unfortunately, I was given a room on the 1st floor in a shared appartment block with a large group of tourists. You can hear most conversations in the room next to you. You can also loudly hear doors slamming along the corridor and in rooms above you. On the second night the fire alarm went off at 3am and the mattress was so overused, I could feel each individual spring digging into me. I had to use my duvet as a mattress topper and sleep in my clothes. When I informed reception, they said they’d “check it out and possibly change it.” No apology or urgency. I paid £450 for 4 nights. It definitely wasn’t worth that for what you got, but the price was much better than other places during the last week of fringe. Due to the noise and very uncomfortable sleeping conditions, I didn’t sleep very well at all and wouldn’t stay again. Best if you’re in a big group with other people you know are going to be respectful of noise.

Convenient location for city centre
Convenient location for attending city-centre Fringe events. (20 mins walk). Welcoming and helpful staff. High standards of cleanliness in all areas. Some noise at night from room and fire doors banging, but very little external noise. Would recommend for a short, no-frills stay.

You get what you pay for
A short stay whilst enjoying the Fringe Festival. The location is fine a fairly short walk from events. I'd say about 15 minutes from the Royal Mile. However, the shower was partially blocked and the bed felt like an army had previously slept on it. Quite uncomfortable. In the end, you get what you pay for.

Nice No frills 3 night stay
Overall perfect for a few nights stay. Friendly reception, capsule room with communal kitchen if needed. Bed was slightly small but did myself and my young daughter fine. Short walk to the middle of Edinburgh.

This is a great basic place to stay. There’s no amenities, but for the price it’s great & even has an area you can do laundry. It’s basically a private dorm room that you’re renting - with it’s own private toilet/shower. I thought this place was perfect. It’s about a mile off the royal mile.

I liked the hotel condition and location but I found that communication was lacking. The staff was friendly but I felt there should be better communication of the hotel services, features and amenities at check-in. One of the most vital things that I felt should have been communicated was that you have to lock your room door with your key card when leaving the room. In most properties I've stayed these doors lock automatically so we were there about a day before realizing this. This could create a major liability issue for you if people are unaware and have thefts occur in their rooms due to unlocked doors. I think even a simple letter in each room would be great that lists hotel amenities and features as well as important contact numbers in case of emergency

It's a student dorm: ten tiny rooms down a corridor and a shared common room and kitchen. The cleanliness of the room was very good (though housekeeping was once once a week) but the common room/kitchen wasn't kept especially clean (perhaps not surprisingly with so many people using it). Front desk staff were courteous and efficient and the location is excellent. My real complaint was with the bed. Though just under four feet wide (120 cm) and therefore a regulation-size double bed, its particle board frame was built in and snug against the wall on one side. This room can't comfortably be shared by two people. If you are a single traveller looking for inexpensive accommodation during the Fringe Festival, then Salisbury Court is perfect.

Really clean and studenty
The room was fantastically clean and cosy, and the staff at the front desk were really helpful and easy to talk to. Good kitchen and nice view. When we come back next year for the Fringe, we’ll be staying in student accommodation because it’s better than a hotel and a lot cheaper :)

3 days in Salisbury Court
Clean and spacious room, well equipped for cooking and enough room for two people to stay comfortably, but not too much counter space for food preparation. No hangars provided. The view was a bit as it looked into the hotel courtyard and not out over Arthur's seat (so make sure you request and outward facing room).

Not expecting too much from 'student accommodation', so were pleasantly surprised; it was lovely! Complimentary tea and coffee on arrival. On enquiry about purchasing more, we were directed to where we could go to top up our supply for free! The room was bright, clean, spacious with plenty of storage space. We were on the 4th (easily accessible by lift) with a great view of the quadrant below - we could watch - and hear! - students rehearsing for the Fringe (we had the window wide open). There was a microwave, an electric cooker with a large oven (which we used), a small, adequate fridge, washing up liquid, utensils for two, an iron (which I also used), a vacuum cleaner (which I definitely did not use!), no tv (which we didn't miss) and excellent wifi reception. We did not use the student facilities in the lobby but others of all ages did, so the lobby always felt lively and vibrant. The front desk was always attended. Another nice touch was that when we checked out on our final day, we were able to leave our suitcases in the lobby for free, and collect them much later in the day after our final visit to the Fringe. On the negative side? The access/fire door to the lifts was a bit dodgy, refusing to open occasionally; I suspect this will be fixed before the new term begins? The local bus (2 minute stroll across the road), direct to the heart of the action - stops running around 23:30, so be prepared to walk (from High Street) or get a cab.

Clean form room.
It was a dorm room with a shared kitchen tv area. A little smaller than expected and a couple hick ups checking in due to staff inexperience. Directions to room were inaccurate. However, it is a reasonable walk into town and restaurants stores are within 1-2 block. Laundry facilities are available in building. Had to ask for second set of towels. Cozy bed for two. I would stay there again.

Good cheap accommodation
We stayed here for a couple of nights in July. It's student accommodation and the room has kitchen facilities and a decent shower. Reception was friendly and efficient. Our only quibble is that the bed was small for the two of us but other than that everything was fine, worked well, and was within reasonable walking distance of the city centre.

Good location in Edinburgh, cute dorm rooms
We were two sharing a double room for two nights in Edinburgh, Salisbury Court. The staff by the reception were all very good and gave us a good recommendation for a nearby breakfast place! The beds are pretty hard to sleep on, but the location is great if you want to stay near the old town without the noise of the city disturbing your sleep. The room was small, but practical and affordable. And the shared kitchen is a big plus! Thank you for having us :)

La struttura è moderna , ben tenuta e ben organizzata a 20 minuti a piedi dal mile. Le camere sono veramente piccole e soprattutto la doccia è minuscola, mi lavavo un giorno la spalla destra e uno quella sinistra, .-) comunque tutto bene buon WIFI anche in camera

Zimmer und Bad extrem klein, Bett auch zu klein für 2 Personen, Zimmer nicht gut aufgestattet (kein Haartrockner, kein TV, kein Safe u.s.w.), kein Zimmerservice. Es war letzendlich ein Studentenwohnheim oder Hostel aber mit dem Preis eines echtes Hotel. :(

El hotel como instalación no está mal, solo veo 1 pequeño fallo y uno muy grande. El pequeño es que tienen máquina de snacks y de agua pero no se café.... Y el gran fallo es que la cocina comunitaria en la zona que estuve, desde el primer día estaba sucia..... Olía mal hasta el pasillo.... Y repito que fueron 3 días los que estuve.

Fint kollegium/lejligheds hotel med super service.
Det var et rigtig fint kollegium, der bliver brugt som hotel i sommermånederne, når de studerende er på ferie. Det var et fint lille værelse med en smal dobbeltseng. Badeværelse var pænt med brusekabine. Der hører et køkken til etagen, hvor man finder de basale ting som service, køleskab og Tv. Personalet var utroligt søde og meget hjælpsomme med alt. Bagagen kan opbevares gratis på afrejse dagen ved behov. Hotellet ligger ca. 25 min til fods fra Old Town og der går mange busser på parallel gaden til hotellet. Der ligger to små supermarkeder ca. 5 min til fods fra hotellet. Det eneste minus er, at der er meget lydt, og dørene smækker hårdt i med mindre, man selv lukker den stille i. Alt i alt et rigtig godt sted, og vi kunne sagtens bo der igen.

busse vor der haustür, alles gut zu fuss zu erreichen. nettes personal an der information. wenn zimmer zum hof ist es aufgrund des schalls laut. fön fehlt im zimmer. wir hatten ein doppelzimmer, badezimmer prima mit behidertengerechten einbauten, küche prima mit allem comfort. man muss bedenken, dass das eine einrichtung für studierende ist.

Se trata de una residencia universitaria. La habitación era muy pequeña. En general la habitación era cómoda. La cocina es compartida con otras 9 habitaciones. La basura tan sólo la recogen los lunes por lo que el cubo solía estar lleno y no hay para reciclar envases tan sólo vidrio. Cuando se cierran las puertas se oye mucho. Tan sólo te dan dos sobres de gel de baño para toda la estancia.
