"Was recommended this property by a colleague and i am glad i tried it out the facilities are new and modern and the staff are very attentive. Food was very nice. I found breakfast was a little over priced as there is fixed £15 charge which if you just want toast and a coffee is a bit pricey. But all in all very good and i will visit again."

"Carberry tower is a stunning and well run establishment. The staff is excellent! From the moment we walked in the doors we knew we would be well taken care of. The suite we stayed in had ample room and a beautiful view of the front walk. The grounds are massive and so well kept, very enjoyable to wander around for a walk. The food was exceptional, we enjoyed dinner in the bistro, it was delicious, the service was outstanding, and they have ver very good cocktails wow! Overall our stay, albeit short, was incredibly enjoyable and we find ourselves wanting to go back soon!"

"Used the property as a weekend stay for the rugby.An old listed building, property (quirky)owned by a fantastic host, David.A comfortable room, en suite and an excellent freshly cooked breakfast.The location was good, bus stop to Edinburgh 100 yards, a short walk to Colinton village where there was 2 pubs and 2 italian restuarants..i opted for Dantes, highly recommended plus a Coop.Simply, the property met my needs and more...completely different... not a 5* hotel but a welcoming " home from home".It made a change , just perfect.Thank you, David."

"This 20s rebuild of a Victorian hydro therapy hotel has truly stunning views. All rooms seemed ‘front’ facing to capitalise on those views. Honestly wonderful. Our room was bright, painted a fresh and modern sage green and, once again, with glorious views. Bed was on the stiffer side which is my preference for comfort and shower and bath warm and strong. Pretty standard for these older hotels as part of a smaller chain. Gym was very quiet on a Saturday evening but with plenty there and truly astonishing aircon for a hotel gym! Accessed through the pool so it was trainers off to get there. Pool seemed very kid friendly and a good size. Definitely an ‘end of maintenance/decoration’ cycle feel to much of the hotel (especially some damp peeling ceilings) but the social areas are charming enough and the main dining room was a lovely space clearly kept fresh for weddings. Hotel was spotlessly clean with great staff - and plenty of them! Post Brexit many hotels seemed to be suffering staff crises, not here. LOTS to do in the nearby area, even if it’s just coffee or cake in Peebles itself. The cocktails were (ahem) made with gusto and plenty of booze, though definitely not to traditional recipes! The ‘cocktail bar’ was more of a feel of a pub snug than a ‘modern’ cocktail bar (if that’s what you are expecting) but it’s welcoming with an open fire. Lovely hotel but with a slightly dated feel that may take the shine off if you’re expecting ‘luxury’"

"Lovely hotel , nice friendly staff, nice breakfast choice and nice, clean room. Nice hotel cat too! Only thing I would say is the hotel is not great for people with accessibility difficulties due to the amount of stairs and no lift. "
