Q - Hotels hotels in Matlock, England

A nice family run place, just a bit out of the way location wise. Located on a bend in the road where motorbikes and cars speed up out of the bend at all times of the day and into the night. Matlock Baths nearby is a magnet at weekends for hundreds of motorbikes. The Family Tree closes at 16:00 for bar and food service so you have to travel out for an evening meal. We caught a train into Matlock, Whatstandwell station 2 minute walk, but found most places in Matlock were closed on a May Bank...

We had a one night stay in the brookside house next to the hotel, our room was extremely comfortable with King size bed, a nice touch was a box of chocolate cookies with the coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom was a little quirky the toilet flush took a little getting used to you think it is broken but then decides to flush also the over bath shower had a disconcerting habit of the shower head tapping me on the head now and again. The food could not be faulted for choice or quality...

Excellent experience, kids really enjoyed themselves.
