"We were a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) in the Wizard Family Room. While the decor was cool and the theme very nice, the functionality of the room was not that great. The area was really too small for a family of 5 with 5 large suitcases and 5 carry on bags, there was really no place to put all of our things. Also, since the actual toilet and shower were separate, there should be some sort of curtain or closure to allow for privacy when getting into and out of the shower. Other than that, the lobby/reception staff were all very nice. The breakfast was quite good."

Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster

"The breakfast selection is super. Well done! The parking facilities are on site - which is great for central London. However the hotel is impersonal, very busy and quite a stressful experience. I didn't like the dark decor on the floors - feels quite ominous! We were on the 5th floor in a Deluxe Queen room. The room was disappointing cramped and a very strange layout; with the hand basin in the lobby of the room. The shower and separate WC are really cramped and the dark walls and floor add to the claustrophobic feeling. Also not clean - mould on ceiling and dusty crevices in wardrobe area. Not a room you can relax in at all. We stayed one night and it was sufficent for our purpose."

Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria

"We had an issue arriving to London. I tried to contact the hotel but the phone number wasn't working so I sent a message informing we would be arriving the next day and wanted to confirm our reservation was held for us and that our room would be ready in the morning. I received no response. Upon arrival we were told that the hotel was sold out and a room was not yet available for us (even though we had paid for the previous night). We had to check our luggage at the front desk. When we returned that evening I explained the situation and asked for a credit for the previous night since we had pre-paid for a room that should have been available to us. We were told by the front desk that our reservation was good and that what we said wasn't true. Very disappointed to be accused of making something up and if our room had been available to us then why would we have had to check at our luggage at the front desk rather than putting them in our room? I would like to AGAIN request a credit back for the night we were charged."

"Decent budget hotel in a great location, close to Victoria station, with many bars, restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Externally the hotel looks nice with character. Typical of the properties in the area. Internally it looks a little tired, but there is clearly decorating and refurbishment works being carried out to address this. Check-in was excellent and staff were professional, friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room looked like it had been decorated fairly recently, and it was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the towels were fresh. The bathroom was in good condition, although there was a slight issue with the shower during my stay where the fixed mount shower head didn’t work but I was still able to use the second attachment so not a huge problem and I expect that will be fixed quickly. There were no tea / coffee making facilities in the room, which wasn’t an issue for me, and there is a vending machine for snacks on the ground floor plus a room service delivery option provided by a partner company. A cooked breakfast plus cereals and toast is included in the room price, which is a bonus and was fine for me, but the limited choice won’t suit everyone. Overall I would say that this is a reasonably priced hotel in a very convenient Central London location, so fine for a short stay. I would stay again, but I have stayed in a number of similar but better hotels for less."

"The staff here are the best I've encountered in London. The room is compact and so smart, with a ton of storage and the best blackout blinds on the market. I love being able to set the lamp colours; just a fun cool place where they know the meaning of customer service."
