The rooms were really cute and comfy but small. Having free parking was great. It was a bit of a hike to downtown if you walked. I wish for the price it included breakfast, since breakfast there was $25 a person.

Very kind staff. I asked for 2 extra pillows, and they had to take them from another room.. just found it interesting they didn't have any extra. But I'm glad they could accommodate! The location is nice. 15 mins from all the shopping and eating you want to do. My one huge complaint is that there wasn't even a microwave in our room, and rooms are advertised as having kitchenettes. That was really unfortunate. I have a lot of food sensitivities, and plan to heat up food in hotels I stay at.

The hotel and staff were amazing however, there was considerable construction in the area that had been going on that should have been updated in the information when rooms were booked or as reservations were getting closer. Parking was affected several times. The back door was locked preventing access to the hotel but we often had to park in the back and then walk to the front in wet, cold weather. Just a heads up would have helped or front and back access.

Very clean hotel and beautiful inside. A bit of a walk to most of downtown Reykjavik, but doable. Front-desk was kind, but not friendly. Like most of Iceland, everything is expensive.

This was a beautiful boutique hotel that was in walking distance to city center with lots of pub and restaurant options. We easily found parking out front. The rooms were small but clean. The beds were comfortable and our view of the ocean and mountains were spectacular. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this hotel.

Cosy, friendly stay
We loved our stay at the Eyja Guldsmeden hotel. Such a cosy hotel. The room was spotlessly clean lovely decor and the bed was so comfy. The staff were very friendly breakfast was tasty and we had an evening meal that was very nice too. We also had the most amazing view from our room . Everything was a sort walk away and we were easily collected and dropped off by the airport bus and for day trips. I would definitely become this hotel.

The rooms feel small when you 1st check in but after a couple of days you realise they're big enough. The hotel had some building works local to it but these were never noticeable noise wise. Its a short walk to the nearest bus station or a 30 minute walk gets you pretty much anywhere you want in reykjavik.

- This is a hotel for you if you want an above 3-star hotel in a hip yet retro atmosphere. - Staffs are all very nice, friendly, and helpful! - It is a bit far from the central bus terminal, but this is one of the many pickup locations of all shuttle buses, tour buses, etc. All tour guys know this place, so you won't be staying in the middle of nowhere. - Room prices are reasonable, and all hygiene products are environmental friendly and sustainable. - The breakfast in my onion is a bit overpriced, but I don't know about the living cost there, so I cannot opine much about it. They have all the essential and great food in the breakfast buffet.

Fine for what it is. Location is great. Bed was hard and you could hear everything through the walls and ceilings. Every morning, the cleaning staff vacuuming the hallways and banging the vacuum into my door. Didn’t sleep well. Nicely decorated. Also seems that they don’t have people who take their meals to their rooms? I wasn’t given any takeaway containers, instead a giant try with heavy full size plates and cutlery. Very strange

We've stayed at this hotel three times now on trips to Iceland. We absolutely love staying here! The breakfast buffet is terrific and the beds are SO comfortable! We also enjoy the friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this hotel!

Relaxing and welcoming
Location of hotel was ideal as it was close to the harbour and also lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Liked the very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone planning on visiting Rejkavik.

Replace your bathroom sinks!
Our stay was enjoyable, the staff was consistently NICE, and the eco-friendly room was very quaint...with one completely unnecessary exception: the bowl sinks! While very photogenic, these ridiculous sinks (8" soup bowls made of rock) and their accompanying faucets were utterly nonfunctional... and in so many ways. Some dimwittted designer must have decided that this bowl sink combo looked too good not buy. The problem is that the hotel ultimately made the decision to purchase these stupid receptacles without considering their guests.

Lovely eco friendly hotel
Lovely eco hotel, friendly and helpful reception staff, beautiful lounge/bar area and great buffet breakfast, very reasonably priced compared to other places we ate, with a lot of choice. Our room was very cosy, bed extremely comfy and nice bathroom with lovely eco friendly products provided. Short walk (around 10 mins) to downtown area. We loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone looking to visit Iceland.

All around excellence for the Christmas holiday
This is a lovely, interesting, and unique hotel that is not just a clone of all other hotels. The decor is warm and inviting, the service superb, and location is great and walk-able. We spent 6 very comfortable and pleasant days at Christmas.

Loved my little preview visit!
I had never stayed in Iceland before and found this gem on hotels.com. It looked nice, was in a good location, and had a great rating so I gave it a shot for an extended layover I did on the way back to the US from Spain. I figured if it was good my partner and I would book it again when we took a trip to Iceland in the future. It was beyond my expectations and I've already booked it again for a trip in March. Incredibly helpful, kind staff, beautiful rooms, and even the little things like the toiletries in the room were lovely. They even helped me get a little lunch before my bus showed up as I headed to the airport when I was in a time pinch. The sweet potato soup was surprisingly luscious and spiced in the yummiest way. They even tracked down some (amazing) gluten-free bread and butter to go with it. A simple meal I've been thinking about frequently since I left. Can't wait to go back!!

Fab place to stay!
Everyone who worked here were so friendly and helpful, not forgetting super laid back which was lovely. Loved the decor and eco vibe of the hotel, plus the delicious breakfast! And free tea and coffee whenever - such a nice touch! A little further out than other places, but suited us to have a little walk into the centre, passing some great shops en route. Super easy to park outside too.

Nice hotel with open area to sit. Coffee and tea always available at no charge. I ate both breakfast and dinner and the food was very good. The staff was lovely and helpful. Just a short walk from the center of town and I was glad to be out of the action.

Amazing place to stay!
This hotel was so cute and cozy. The staff was extremely friendly and coffee and tea were always available and free. It was the perfect place to stay with a little store directly behind as well. You have to try their signature breakfast as well! Highly recommend this place.
