Funchal Old Town Villa Exceptional Ocean Views 5 mins walk to shops & restaurant
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (62)
"Excellent property. I could not believe the amount of ware glasses etc. It had absolutely everything. Mirela was so helpful. Great view from the property. We felt the pull up the hill but very soon found an alternate route. Would definitely recommend it to anybody who is thinking of going to Madeira. Weather was very warm when we were there so it was great to sit out in the shade."

AMAZING VIEW over the bay, by the Old Town, walk to the city, totally quiet area
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (10)
"What a fantastic place with great views and a beautifully groomed garden. Lots of homely touches. So glad we found this place, we loved it here and cant wait to go back. Worth mentioning is that the walk into town is 20 mins downhill and a steep walk back but the bus stops right outside the gate and taxi's are b/w 5 & 10 euro's depending on who you get. The access to the apt is via a spiral staircase which we loved but worth considering. Helena was so helpful and we knew she was contactable if...

Rochinha’s house with fabulous views over the bay of funchal
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (44)
"Good communication with Carolina, close to the old town approx 15-20 min walk to cable car, there is a very steep walk back to the property. Unfortunately due to storm Oscar we weren’t able to use the pool. But the garden is surprisingly private. Property was clean and comfortable We used a taxi driver called Nuno, recommended by Carolina to collect us from the airport, he also took us on a lovely day tour around the north of the island, then back to the airport. The restaurants recommended by...

9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (197)
"Beautiful property with great views. Walkable into town. Note: if you stay in either of the the original “old house” rooms, the beds are a little dated and the climate control is limited. However, the terrace makes up for this drawback. "

"A bit of a mixed review. I could not contact the hotel via email or the Expedia app (quintabelasaotiago.com is not the domain name for the hotel email) prior to arrival. some of the front desk staff (Nadia) are excellent as is Sa in the restaurant but others are surly and disinterested. We asked to borrow an iron and were told at the front desk that we would have to pay - then it never turned up since the only way to get clothes ironed is to use the laundry service. We asked for a replacement...

"I stayed for six nights - an older, solo traveler. I was greeted warmly by the owners, and I found all the staff members I had contact with to be friendly, helpful, and informative. I also found the other guests to be cheerful and interesting, no doubt an outgrowth of Pensao Mirasol's atmosphere, when we interacted in the dining area. I'll stay there again the next time I'm in Funchal."
