"We stumbled upon this place by accident while looking for a pitstop, and what a find! We originally planned for one night but enjoyed it so much we extended our stay to two. Olivia was great, she was welcoming, friendly, and went out of her way to make us feel accommodated, the zip wire, archery and axe throwing activities were great fun for our children. The campfire and chai were such thoughtful touches. The food was another highlight; Chef Ramsey is a master, tailoring every meal to our individual preferences for flavor and spice. We are already planning a return trip for next year!"

"Booked and confirmed via email . Got there at night and the hotel was closed . When calling the only number available the message says “ closed since November 2025 due to flooding “ . Our booking was online in January 2026 so they knew this already and still accepted the reservation . £200 out the window and had to drive to Abergavenny to look for accommodation late at night …"

"Really pleased with the accommodation, plenty of space inside and out for the 9 of us. The house was clean and tidy. The kitchen had everything we could need and more, which was extremely helpful. The house is a short walk away from Skenfrith castle and the river for a swim, and within about a 20-25 minute drive you can get to many places/attractions. The owner was helpful when I messaged to ask a question and replied promptly. Will definitely be recommending ti family and friends."

"We could not have enjoyed our stay at the Ciderhouse Cottage any more! It was perfect for our needs, very clean, comfortable and practical without any unnecessary frills. The setting is wonderful and there is plenty of access to great local pubs, restaurants, shops in Monmouth while you can retreat to your own little cottage far from the noisy world. Dave was a wonderful host and especially kind and forbearing with my teenage daughters who showed a keen interest in his farm and Nell, the farm dog. We did local walks which were easy access and beautiful as well as day trips to Abergavenny, the Forest of Dean and Hay on Wye - all easy to reach.I hope that we can find an excuse to come back and we greatly appreciated the stay!"
