"Pros - Staff were really lovely, room was clean and location excellent. Cons - Room was on ground floor underneath a busy street/hill so was very noisy through the night despite double glazing. Free seating at breakfast tricky for a solo traveller - it was very busy and my seat (despite my book on the table) was taken by the time I returned with my food and I had to hover for a while for another seat."

"Fantastic accommodation just near the main centre of Edinburgh (OmniCentre, Playhouse, St James Shopping Centre). Plenty of amenities within 5 mins walk amd nice location. Reception staff very friendly and Georgian design hotel was impressive... a bit like the Tardis (bigger on the inside). Room was spacious and had everyone you needed for a stay."

"Location is great. Within 10mins walk to the Royal Mile and Train station. Parking is a challenge in town, for driving guests, good to quickly offload bags in front of the hotel and drive off. "

"Lovely quiet room (carpet needs replacing). Very friendly and helpful staff. Bar closes early on weekdays but the front desk associate could pour us a wee dram."

"We had an early morning arrival, and David was very helpful in arranging an early check-in and upgrading us to an available room. Great location - walkable to everything. We also really enjoyed the bar."

"The reception and front desk staff were consistently kind and helpful. The location is excellent - very convenient for getting around, with plenty of things to see and do just minutes away. As a solo female traveler, I did find that there wasn’t much within comfortable walking distance of the hotel after about 9 p.m. The hotel does have a cute bar that stays open until around 11, but it felt fairly quiet and not very lively when I was there alone. My only real issue was with the elevators. One was completely out of service during my stay, and the other was not always reliable. Being on the fifth floor, this meant having to use the stairs multiple times, which was quite inconvenient."

"The hotel was clean, the staff was great, and it was located very centrally. Less than 5 minute walk to the train station. 10 minute walk to tour bus pickup point. 10-15 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. Rooms were pretty quiet and very comfortable. There is no mini fridge."
