"A Truly Restorative Stay — Our Home Away From Home This was our second time staying here, and we would absolutely return again. From the moment we arrived, it felt like coming home. It’s the perfect place to recharge. We were welcomed with a delicious, health-conscious drink that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The front-desk staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The rooms are beautiful—rustic yet refined—with plunge pools, thoughtful décor, and all the amenities you could need, from blow dryers and robes to additional curated items available for purchase. With three restaurants on site, the dining experience is a highlight. There’s Japanese, Mediterranean, and an open-air beachfront restaurant, La Popular Nômade Temple, which offers fresh fish from the Caribbean Sea and a dining experience rooted in simplicity and connection to nature. Everything we ordered was not only beautifully plated but delicious. The servers were attentive, helpful, and incredibly warm—many even remembered us by name. The beach was gorgeous, as always, and we were thrilled to find no sargasso seaweed during our visit. The spa was incredible, offering a range of traditional Mexican treatments focused on deep relaxation and healing. The wellness program is also robust, with complimentary yoga, breathwork, outdoor ceremonies, and unique experiences available for purchase. Our only suggestion would be to increase capacity—classes fill up quickly, especially during busy weeks. "

"I don’t ever write reviews but I thought my 4 day stay at Shibari deserved one. The hotel is basically a giant compound in an already very safe area of tulum. They have a massive gate in the front that only hotel guests are allowed to enter through. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can’t just wander on through like you can at some others located on the beach. The hotel is also right next to a police station which makes you feel even more comfortable. The area itself is very well lit at night and surrounded by many beach clubs and restaurants. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute walk. Aside from the location of the hotel, the hospitality was off the charts from the beginning! My only complaint is they had construction for two straight days in the hotel. Not ideal waking up to a chainsaw at 8:30AM or hearing it during yoga or listening to guys work late in the evening at the restaurant. There’s never an ideal time for construction but I feel there were better times for it. Overall, the hotel was gorgeous and well kept all around. Perfect location if you want a relaxing cenote vibe while still close to the party zone and beaches. I will miss watching the sunset over the Mexican jungle…Thank you Shibari."

"Just returned from a lovely visit to Tulum. Alaya was lovely. We had a second floor beach front room with amazing views. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food and service was excellent too. Looking forward to returning as 6 days was not long enough! "

"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Azulito. The property is perfectly located right on a beautiful beach, which made our time there even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. First, we want to mention Samantha, the manager. She was amazing — she made reservations for us, gave us great recommendations, and made sure everything about our stay went smoothly. A special thank-you also goes to Griselda from housekeeping. She kept our room spotless and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. She, along with the rest of the team, went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests. We also want to recognize Gregorio, our butler, who was fantastic and always ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. The food at the hotel restaurant was also excellent. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily return."
