Algarve Kid friendly Holidays

Our check in process was not smooth. Upon booking on Expedia I used the search parameters for 1 adult + 2 children. I booked a one bedroom suite knowing the pull out sofa will be used for my second child. I chose to add buffet breakfast as prompted when selecting the room. I paid EUR27 for the ‘add on’. Open arriving at the property I was told that Expedia confirmed a room for one adult only. No pull out was ready & they fixed. Breakfast was EUR16 and EUR8 for each child. I had to pay the extra for the children’s breakfast. I flagged to Expedia that this add on was based on my search parameters (including adding in each child’s age)and was their mistake that they didn’t engage at all. We tried to eat dinner at the restaurant and were treated very rudely by the restaurant staff. They did not seat us (you must check in at the restaurant reception) - we seated ourselves. We were not brought menus but after waiting 15 minutes were asked to then change tables. We left and ate at a lovely place 1km away from the hotel. The next morning I complained and they suggested the manager would come speak to us at breakfast. No one came. A real show of a lack of 5-star sensibility at a hotel. We were then told the kids breakfasts were complimentary. I insisted on paying on principal as I felt incredible disrespect by the lack of care of the hotel management. This property is well kept and should be great for families. Management and agency and care of staff is a huge miss.

Good little apartment for exploring the Algarve and local area. Within walking distance of some local restaurants. The apartment was practical, the decor a little dated, although the kitchen and bathroom were nice. We had a few bugs get in, but being on the ground floor probably makes it more susceptible. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked ourselves 2 evening meals, and kept a stock of breakfast food. The pool area was ideal, not huge but the right size for the number of guests there. Having the bar right next to it is handy. We only ate at the bar/restaurant twice, the food was nice possibly a bit overpriced. We at out several times. Overall if you're wanting somewhere basic to stay to explore the area we would recommend Pinhal da Marina.

Staff were genuinely nice all around, the room was a good size and clean, although a little dated. Food was generally good, although not lots of options, but taste wise was nice. Restaurants were also clean and well presented. Drinks options were limited and didn’t include premium brands. Swimming pool area could do with a little improvements. The chap who did the children’s entertainment was good value and very warm to everyone. I wouldn’t say this was anywhere near the best 5 star hotel I have visited before and would probably say a 4 star, but all around me and my children had a good time there.

Both were excellent. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. After midday, the young lads from the bar were very friendly and helpful serving the poolside. Beach was 200m 5 minutes to walk along the wooden boardwalk.

Close marina and beach. Good breakfast nice pools. Nice to walk along the beach front into the nearby town
