I liked the location and also the modern design of the hotel and furnishings overall. The rooms are however very small, there is very little storage for clothing with just a hanging rail above the fridge ( yes, terrible). The bathroom is also very small and narrow. The worst for me was the lack of an actual breakfast. No, you do not get to go to a main restaurant and get to choose from a variety of cooked and continental together with fresh tea and coffee. At this hotel they bring you a wicker basket with some mini school meals type of foods: a mini box of rice crispies, a mini muffin, one babybell, a mini milk, a mini juice, mini spreads ( jam, nutella, marmalade and butter) but without any toast ( perhaps the hotel expects you to eat these spreads with your fingers straight from the little pots), one mini weetabix. This hotel isn’t upfront about the breakfast offering on the booking platforms however they do charge standard full breakfast rates as all other hotels that actually do offer a real breakfast. I will not stay here again and I don’t recommend it to anyone. For context, yes I did query at reception why they offered such a poor breakfast and if they have other options and the answer was ‘that’s all we have’.

All aspects of the hotel are amazing, can't wait to stay again, Hideaway was so good,bed was so comfy.

I’ve stayed at The Edwardian several times before, but unfortunately this visit was disappointing and didn’t feel like a 5* experience. Every member of staff we came across was lovely, welcoming and helpful. Check-in was seamless and the bar was lovely. The standard room felt quite dated and there were a few cleanliness issues. The TV remote had grime between the buttons and there were black hairs caught in the flannels, although the bed itself was spotless. I also asked for a firm pillow, but the one delivered was extremely flimsy. The bathroom was underwhelming for a 5* hotel, with a fairly weak shower and no overhead rainfall shower. We also received a call to the room phone at around 11:45pm simply to check whether it was working, which was very odd and not ideal at that time of night. We had one hour of spa access on the day of arrival. The spa staff were lovely, but the experience itself wasn’t especially relaxing. Guests are asked to remove their shoes, the floors around the pool felt unclean underfoot, and they were also extremely slippery. I saw several people slide or nearly fall, including around the stairs. There also weren’t enough places to sit initially. Overall, it didn’t feel like a 5* stay. There are several highly rated 4* hotels nearby that offer a better overall experience, even without a pool. Having stayed here before, this visit was particularly disappointing and I don’t think I would return.

The hotel was really nice but horrendously overpriced and not worth the money.

The staff here are excellent! Everyone one we encountered were really good and helpful. I didn’t like the first impression of my room ( I had booked an accessible room just for me) because the sofa was made up into a bed and it made the room look untidy. There was a stained stool in the room and some weird white stuff on one of the shower rails. The tv was in a strange place as it was sideways to the bed and the pillows.. horrible.., lumpy and hard. The tea tray was very basic with just one type of tea and decaf and caff coffee. I’m a decaf tea drinker or a fruit tea but there were none on offer. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was nicely quiet. I ate in the bar as the restaurant was closed. I had a Poke Bowl which was definitely the most boring Poke bowl I had ever attempted to eat.
