"Could be outstanding but the kitchen lets them down. The location, hotel and staff are wonderful but the food is where the shine falls off. Decent menu but most of the food was bland, lacking taste or overly greasy (fish). Breakfast was wrong both mornings (even with simple request), kitchen needs to read the orders properly.. At the two dinners, both night people on tables around us were commenting on their food.. (which is such a shame for a lovely hotel..."

"Excellent location, staff were friendly and helpful, beds were very comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was ok. The steak was very over cooked and was like a frisbee. The duck was tough, the triple cooked chips were hot and delicious. The breakfast menu had a great selection and was very good."

"The cottage was in a great location and well equipped with all we needed. The kitchen was well layed out and had all the essentials. The living room area was very cozy with the wooden beams and fire place. the furniture needs to be updated as the couches are very low to the ground with visible staining. All 3 bedrooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and storage. Bathrooms were very clean and bright. The cottage is in a very small village with not much around, sits on a busy road which was noisy for the front 2 bedrooms. Parking is provided but very tight if you have a small suv. All around great property with a nice backyard and sitting area."

"A lovely property, beautifully kept with a stunning garden! The beds are comfortable, the hot tub is the perfect temperature and the log burner is just perfect for warming up and feeling cosy. We felt relaxed and content whilst at the property. Excellent location too for nearby visits of interest."

"The room was spotless and communal areas were very clean and tidy. It had a nice cosy atmosphere and staff were welcoming on arrival. Staff very helpful and polite during the stay. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of options to suit any taste. It was really nice to see local ingredients being used. Parking was fine, it was a bit tricky getting in the car park but we didn’t have any issues finding a space on the road if it was full. We had an evening meal which was also very tasty. Rooms had all you could need amenities."

"First of all, if you like modern and minimalist. Do not stay here! It is very lived in and not the cleanest but we completely loved the whole weekend and wouldn't change a thing! There is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, there are even a few staples like herbs, salt pepper, gravy etc and we had a lovely welcome hamper left for us! The beds were all so comfy, plenty of lovely fluffy towels to use and the fact that 2 of the bedrooms had en suits meant that we had plenty of bathrooms and toilets for all! The location was beautiful. So quiet - even though the farmer was making the most of the nice weather and driving his gigantic tractor back and forth during the day, it added to the atmosphere and the kids loved spotting it! We visited some neighboring villages and Burford. As we were also lucky with the weather we spent a lot of time out in the garden which was secure and safe for the kids and dog! We would 100% visit again. Anabelle was so accommodating and communicated with us continually on the day of arrival - we were even allowed to check in early as she got everything ready quickly!! Highly recommend!"

"Great home in a lovely area. A neighbor did call the police and said there was a 10 person brawl because we were in the hot tub after 10pm. Otherwise amazing!"
