Thank you for reviewing our property. We were very disappointed to receive such a poor review which we feel is unfair and wish to respond to some of your comments. The water pressure issue was caused by the utility company carrying out maintenance work in the area which we have absolutely no control over. However, to avoid a reccurence we have now installed a seperate pressurised water tank that holds a minimum of five days supply of water as a back up so this will not be an issue again. Since your visit we have totally refurbished both bathrooms. Beds - All beds in the villa are and were at the time of your visit standard European size beds. Since your visit we have replaced the King size mattress in the Master Bedroom and we also replaced the bed in the second bedroom from a double bed to a King size bed with new base and mattress. Both are top of the range luxury mattresses. You say "Villa described as rustic but it was actually badly in need of updating" - The interior of the villa is exactly as it is in the photographs on our website. It is plain to see that the villa is decorated in a rustic style but this does not mean that it is in need of updating. It is not a modern style villa which may be more to some people's taste. There is no hidden agenda with Lava Villa as everything is as described on this website and the photographs provided are a true depiction of what the villa looks like inside. We would suggest potential guests read other people's reviews before booking as they speak for themselves.

Yes, Lava Villa it is not suitable for 2 families of 4 adults and 4 children. The villa is advertised for up to 6 people, not 8 people. The kitchen is not suitable for 8 people either. The sizes of all the rooms are shown on the floor plan on the website (see photo 25/28). The description and photos don’t lie, the villa is exactly as described and seen in the photos. We are very disappointed that you gave the villa such a low rating. Having seen the description and viewed the photos, it should have been obvious that the villa did not suit your needs.

Hello Michael, Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you would recommend Villa Lava to others and that you would book again in the future. The positive things you mention speak for themselves but the negatives need to be dealt with in detail as they are not the normal at Villa Lava, as you can appreciate from previous reviews. It is unusual to have a problem with ants. During your stay you made us aware that there was a problem with ants in the kitchen but you said “we will get some devices against them and hope to manage.” As we didn’t hear from you again during your stay, we assumed that you had sorted the problem yourself. Had we know that the problem persisted we would have called in the specialists to eradicate them. We have done this since your departure and can confirm that the ant problem has now been solved. We were unaware that you had a continuous Wi-Fi problem during your stay. It is such a pity that you did not contact us and make us aware that this problem persisted as we would have spoken to our provider (Movistar) and hopefully gotten the problem sorted during your stay. Once we found out about the Wi-Fi problem after you left the villa, we immediately contacted Movistar. We were informed that there was a problem with the antenna in Tamaragua at the time. The issue with the antenna has now been sorted but the speed of our Wi-Fi is still not back to normal speed. We have been told that a technician will rectify this problem in the next 24 hours. The Wi-Fi speed is normally good so it was unfortunate that there was a technical problem during your stay. As for your comment regarding the villa being remote, we consider Villa Lava to be rural rather than remote and we advertise it as such. It is 5km (3 miles) from the nearest village which has five restaurants, a bakery, bars and two supermarkets. It is built on the edge of a Natural Park in a hamlet of houses each built on one acre or more. As you said yourself, there is a beautiful sea view and it is in a very quiet location. Needing a car as a pay off for this slice of peace and tranquility is something that we would not consider to be a negative. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us to keep everything to the high standards we set at Villa Lava. Our previous reviews are testimony to this.
