"Had an excellent stay at the Apex Waterloo Place - stayed 3 nights over a long six nations weekend. The hotel was really well presented, all of the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. We ate at the Liberte restaurant and had their Prix Fixe menu - the food was delicious and good value for the quality we received. Used the basement pool and sauna which was small, but really nice too. Hotel well located for the city, and exploring down to Leith. All in all, a great stay and would come back here again another time. "

"Across the road from Haymarket, decent bar adjoining hotel. Room quite small but fine for a couple of nights or so. Only problem was seal on window wasnt great so could hear qind whistling and traffic noise. Black out blind also had a tear which let in light too early. Decent value though."

"This place is a must while in Edinburgh. Beautiful building with amazing staff ;-) A 10 mins walk to the Murrayfield stadium and 5 mins to restaurants and cafe. The hotel has also a restaurant which was excellent. "

"Air con doesn’t work and they didn’t tell us before hand, just when we raised it with them. Maid came in the room on our first night despite their being a do not disturb sign on. Told her politely to “go away”. She came back 30 minutes later, apologised after being told again to “go away” but took the room key out of the electric point. Raised this issue with front desk who offered a free alcoholic drink to my pregnant wife. Politely declined but hey ho, offered a breakfast instead. The next morning, after a long night watching England lose to Scotland, the maid came in around 8:30am, again with the sign outside. Complaint made but told we can get a discount off our next stay which will almost certainly not be at Mercure. Unprofessional responses, condescending replies, overall pooooor."

"Paint chipped of multiple surfaces room was not worth £250.hairs in bath and bed.no pressure to shower felt like a water bottle with holes in.slippy bath but bath Matt was yellow with stains.tv remote wouldn’t work.white marks on headboard aswell if you know u know."
