"It was a wonderful experience from arriving to leaving.Every member of staff went the extra mile to make are stay as pleasurable as possible.There we’re however a couple of staff worthy of extra praise and they were Miguel restaurant supervisor,Ali waiter at breakfast and evening meal,Diego guest relations Manager and Ian waiter/porter.I would highly recommend this hotel for location,food,exceptional service throughout and providing us with a very memorable break."

"We had a cabin room w hot tub. Room was spotless & decorated v nicely. The cabins are definitely not new as indicated on website! Some worn items in need of replacement. Foodxwas good. Staff all friendly and helpful."

"Our room was upgraded on arrival, and the room was perfect, floor to ceiling windows with a perfect view of the lake. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. The spa was lovely, The only downside was the building work going on outside but they seemed to keep disruption to a minimum"

"What a lovely small cosy hotel this is. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean with a excellent view of lake windermere. The grounds were amazing. Not far outside of Bowness.so can easily walk there and to the ferry if you wanted. Food was good and fresh. Breakfast had a made to order menu on hot food. So definitely fresh. With an excellent choice. Will definitely return."

"They have multiple buildings on the property. We had 2 rooms, not in the same building. Both were excellent, but one was superior and also had a washer/dryer. They were the same price, but room 30, was much more convenient, than the rooms in the 40’s. Longer walk and up a tight stairwell. Besides that, both rooms were great. Very spacious and convenient. Restaurant was full and no other dining options close by, so that was unfortunate. Our fault for booking last miniute though."

"Stayed at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa for 3 nights and honestly… the thermal journey is the only reason I’d come back. Rooms are pretty meh—dated and not the cleanest. We were in room 166 and there were visible spill stains on the wall (not great), but it did have incredible lake views. It was also super convenient being so close to the elevator to take you to the spa. Read the fine print: access to the main pool (with infrared sauna + eucalyptus steam) is limited to 2.5 hours. Family time is early morning, and adults-only is 5:30–8pm, which felt oddly restrictive and honestly a bit like a bait-and-switch. We ended up booking the thermal journey + massage for $400, which is a lot. That said, the spa itself is next level—one of the best I’ve been to. Outdoor hot tubs, multiple saunas… highlights were the wood-fired sauna, salt sauna, indoor whirlpool, and the “Lost in the Clouds” massage (incredible—should’ve gone longer). Food at the hotel is subpar. We couldn’t get into Blue Smoke because I didn’t book in advance but overall options were limited. Breakfast is included (7:30–10am), but it’s the same spread daily and just okay. £12/day for parking. Location is great—about 10 minutes to Ambleside and Grasmere—but you’ll definitely need a car since there aren’t good dining options on-site. If you enjoy walking, there are beautiful hikes and trails right outside the hotel, which was a big plus. Staff was friendly."
