"Nice room, close to centre of town. Coffee maker and kettle, clean bathroom. Comfy bed. Only thing it could have done with was a chair in the room."

"This hotel has a customer hostile policy that readers need to know about. When the guest selects a temperature on the thermostat, the hotel will reset it back to 22C, regardless of the customer's wishes. This occurred several times each night we stayed in the hotel. I set the HVAC to 20C and the hotel, without asking, resets it to 22C and we wake up hot. On the 2nd morning of this happening, I asked the hotel about it (thinking the HVAC was malfunctioning) and they stated this is their policy. Indeed, they change the temperature in the middle of the night overriding the customer's wishes. I understand and expect hotels to have lower limits on HVAC temperature but I've never encountered a hotel that overrides the customer's desired temperature. It is customer hostile and potential guests need to know about this limitation, especially during the warmer months of summer. I hope Clayton Hotels reconsiders this terrible policy because I will never stay in another Clayton Hotel if this is expected."

"Checked into our room and it was dirty with stains on the walls and ceiling, old dirty carpet and a strong musty/moldy smell that triggered my asthma. We asked to be moved to a different room, but the hotel was full, so we had to check out within 30 minutes of entering our room. The lobby is nice and reflected in online photos. Our room did not reflect the online photos. It was disgusting. The hotel manager refused to refund us for the 3-night stay. Expedia was not much help either. We finally had to enlist our credit card company to investigate and resolve the matter."

"Amazing hotel, so clean, facilities are great perfect for a short stay or even a long one. The staff are incredible and so helpful. The hotel is so funky even down to the little details. We really enjoyed our stay and will 100% be coming again. Recommended highly! Also a short journey to city centre via public transport, was so easy to navigate, also nice places to eat and drink within the area!"

"The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The environmental aspect and pride employees who represent of Park Places show is apparent and helps guests acclimate and enjoy Amsterdam, Vondelpark area in particular. You can walk to hub communities, pick up a bike from the hotel and ride the park, and pick up the #2 Tram to the canals easily from the hotel."

"Overall, we had a very good stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. The location was convenient and made it easy to get around and enjoy the area. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well. Overall the experience was pleasant and we would consider staying here again."

"We had a great stay at the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the garden was a lovely place to relax. The location is excellent, with tram stops right nearby and the Van Gogh Museum within easy walking distance. A special mention to Daniel and Lesego, who really stood out during our visit. They were both incredibly friendly, professional, and went out of their way to help whenever needed. Their excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again."
