Clean welcoming resort from the moment you step out of your airport transfer to the moment you say farewell. Friendly staff ready to accommodate guests needs. Great selection of food and drinks with good domestic and international choices. Overall good experience. The ongoing seaweed problem that plagued the seashore drop a little bit from overall good experience.

Best resort we’ve stayed at by a long shot. Everything was great. Food was outstanding (usually it’s hit & miss at resorts), service was 10/10. Entertainment was in a whole different league compared to other resorts. Only complaint is that the resort could use a little freshen up, and things seemed to be falling apart (chairs, parts of the room etc). Probably why the price was so discounted. Don’t think we will go anywhere except excellence for now on!

Everything is a 10/10 except the beach. It stunk and had a lot of seaweed. If the beach isn’t your thing this resort is perfect in every other aspect it’s a great balance of party vs quiet. But it’s not exceptionally quiet or exceptionally a party. It’s just a very well balanced resort and every other aspect besides the beach is a 10/10

The place was clean and the staff were amazing. It’s just that the rooms are “old”. They need upgrading. For example, the tap in the shower came off in my hand, a wall sconce on the wall had a shade on it that did not fit. The curtains were dirty, as were the white wash clothes and towels. Many of them were stained.

Just a stellar resort. The entertainment, food, service, beach, pools, everything was great. Small enough that you can walk from your room on one side of the resort to the beach in 5min.

The property is well managed. Among the employees the Front desk Supervisor, Armando Navarrete is exceptional in giving required information, making sure that we had a comfortable and worry free stay. I think is a really very good asset to the Exvellence Rivera Cancun. Hector from Lobster restaurant and Enrique from the Hydro Spa were also very attentive and helpful. Besides, the house keeping staff are the best. The bar tendors at the club restaurant are good at their work and helpful.

Restaurants were centrally located and didnt need a reservation Never more then a 5 minute wait. Staff was always cleaning Everyone was very friendly. We will stay with Excellence and will try the Dominican location next

My husband and I spent 4 nights, 5 days at this resort for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING! It was our first time here and we were consistently blown away by the amazing service provided by every staff member and the attention to detail. Our room was nicely decorated for us upon arrival with flowers and champagne. The resort itself is beautiful and charming and the quality of the food, entertainment, and service exceeded our expectations daily. The pools and beach are picturesque and the quality of the alcohol in the drinks is excellent. My husband and I splurged extra for a private dinner on the beach which included a set menu of our choice (delicious!), beautiful set up, and an amazing live saxophone player. It was the most romantic highlight of our stay. This resort is a great blend of ages and we felt we could easily get rowdy or have a more relaxing day/evening depending on our mood and where we decided to spend our time in this spacious resort. We would recommend Excellence Riviera Cancun to anyone and look forward to returning for a future anniversary. We applaud the staff and all their efforts that make this place so wonderful to visit. Their hard work and thoughtfulness are truly what sets this resort apart. Thank you for having us!

Our only issue was we ran out of soap and had to call room service. There was a wedding the Sunday of our stay and disrupted the restaurants both at lunch and dinner. At dinner we were going to have desert but the waiter never came back- so we ordered room service because we could.

Beautiful property. Friendliest staff. Wonderful room. Great restaurants. Enjoyable entertainment. Noisy music during the day at the main pool that can carry throughout the resort which takes away from a quiet afternoon. But, will return! Highly recommend this resort.

Resort is the best I’ve been too! Extremely clean, staff was exceptionally friendly, each restaurant had something delicious to eat. We stayed in the Excellence Club Junior suite pool view and would definitely stay again. Our room (building 7) had part ocean view and wasn’t sure if that was part of our suite category but it was a plus. I’d recommend the excellence club for the separate pool and Magna restaurant- club has other great perks too. Upgrade alcohol in room was great too! I’d definitely stay here again. The nightly shows were great too.

The resort is excellent! We were blown away by how great the food was! Everything was fresh and very tasty. The grounds are spectacular and the pools next level. The live entertainement during the day and night were amazing - we very much enjoyed it. Only downside, the beach was not cleared of the seaweed with a tractor. The employees were using pitch forks and wheelbarrows. It was a battle they were not going to win with that method. Second thing, the scent that was pumped into the foyer and martini bar area was very very strong. We often avoided the area because of it. Overall, 5 stars!!! Have recommeded to friends already and would gladly book again.

The only thing I didn't like was that it was a $60 USD taxi to get into Cancun. Apparently, Ubers are allowed but the taxi drivers hassle them and it created conflict.

Service was great. Staff friendly and very helpful. Not a huge resort, so extremely walkable. Not the newest but very clean and well maintained. Close to CUN airport - a short 25 minutes. Food excellent with very good choices. Very nice spa services and massage… Definitely recommend and plan to return!

This was our first stay at Excellence Riviera Cancun & we had a phenomenal time! The restaurants were top notch, service and staff incredibly friendly & helpful, and overall the ultimate experience in relaxation. We upgraded to the “Club” which had a terrific pool area with friendly people and afternoon games. We ended up upgrading to the Honeymoon Suite, which was absolutely amazing with two rooms, balcony overlooking the pools and view of beach & ocean, top-notch mini bar, 2 hot tubs, and pre-dinner treats delivered to us. Felt truly pampered thru the entire trip! One of the highlights was the “Silent Party” where we partied w/headphones and danced around bopping with others to our favorite songs. The evening shows and karaoke were also a blast! I sang several times—and asked if I was a professional singer (lol). Even got asked to autograph someone’s arm! Lol The staff including Chris, Itamar, Auzecena (Susie) made it fun and entertaining—from black jack in the pool to Aqua Fun Zumba, and evening show time. Everywhere we went the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The Aroma cafe served the most delicious sweets and cappuccinos. Our favorite restaurants were the French and Indian as well as the Club’s Magna Lounge. The beach was nice as well—loved the “beds” with drop down shade on all sides. There were so many nice amenities! We had an incredibly memorable trip and would love to be back next year! Keep up the great job, Excellence Riviera Cancun!! A !!

Food was great! Did not like that it took a very ling time to be served at dinners. With the exception of Asian dinner. You are allowed a 40 minute window before your towels are snatched while you get breakfast or lunch. That wS impossible to get served lunch in that time.

Loved this place, getting a bit older and needs a face lift, but the staff wear always fixing things and painting which is helping. All the staff were great.

Everything about our stay was excellent. This was the best all inclusive resort I have stayed at (6 total). The restaurant options were fantastic and the food was great. There were plenty of pools to choose from and the beach was very clean. Service was wonderful as were the drinks. We will be back for sure! 10/10 recommend!

TLDR: This is a beautiful resort, but with an older straight crowd & virtually no nightlife. Also impossible to leave resort for under $250USD. Truly a beautiful resort — if you’re looking for a very quiet getaway. I traveled with my partner & a group of friends, and we had an amazing time with each other. But, the resort more or less closes down at 11PM, & there is an overly expensive shuttle service (we were quoted around $250USD for a round trip to Cancùn). And good luck trying to find a more reasonably priced service. Apparently, unbeknownst to us, Uber is “banned” on the resort, and after one was ordered the men running the shuttle services threatened to beat up the Uber driver that arrived. If you’re looking for a night outside the resort that won’t break the bank, consider another resort with more reasonable shuttle services. Additionally, as a queer person traveling with their partner, we felt safe & welcomed on the grounds. However, if you’re travelling as a single LGBTQ2S person, there is very little there to offer you. We felt it was a very straight, white clientele who preferred a quieter vacation experience. That being said, we found ways to have an amazing time; the food was incredible (wait times are a bit long), the drinks were good, the staff was so friendly & attentive, the grounds are gorgeous, & the beach was clean. We had an amazing time as a group, we just hoped for some more nightlife opportunities, & more affordable ways to leave the resort.

I liked the staff very helpful and courteous all around despite some of them were not able to speak english. They should improve the floating bed services in the pool area. People would come early morning and grab all the floating beds and chairs even if they didn't use it right away. In our 5 days visit we were never successful to grab one that's the only bad experience we had.

Wait times for food and restaurants was ridiculous. You also can’t leave the resort without using their overinflated taxi service. When we ordered an Uber, the taxi service person threaten to punch the Uber driver if he took us. It was like we were trapped. Constant banging all night like the slamming of a door from 4am to 8am every single night. Just awful. Clean resort and the staff is kind but so much is wrong. Don’t come here.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for 5 nights and felt very safe. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I read a few reviews that said the hotel needs updating.. I disagree, the rooms were very nice and clean. We loved the jacuzzi. The food was delicious. Our favourites were Agave, Basmati and Oregano. Drinks were also very good. Entertainment was fun, we enjoyed the dancing lesson, latin night and the Silent party. Beach was nice and the staff try their best to clean up the seaweed. Overall, no complaints. Would love to come back or stay at other Excellence resorts in other countries.
