"Cozy little place, 2 bedrooms (1 double 1 single). We went as a couple with a 2 year old.
We set up the travel cot in the single bedroom.
Pleasant stay. Just remember to buy groceries during the day as most places close by 5 or 6pm."
"Lovely place and very friendly staff. Great food and choice of drinks. The area of Hawkshead was gorgeous.
The room was very cozy, we stayed in room 7. The only downside was the creaky floor boards in the room that got a little annoying in the end and the lack of hanging space.
We would definitely stay at the Red Lion Inn again"
"Spent the first half hour hoovering cobwebs from bedrooms....toilet floor was damaged and spongy......little disappointing really because we've stayed in this block of cottages before....."
"High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed.
The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls.
The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift . Having said...
"Lovely inn, staff are super friendly and happy to help. Bed was very comfy and the room was spotless. Lovely view out the front to the villiage square and hills beyond. "
