Well, what an experience that was! We had issues with Sean way before his arrival date, he asked repeatedly for an early check-in, of which we could not commit to at the time for obvious reasons. He could not grasp the concept that if the villa had a guest booking out that morning or the cleaner was coming at noon, then it would not be possible. Nevertheless he and his family steamed ahead and entered the property at 12 O’clock which was 4 hours before normal check-in and way before the agreed time. Going forward, on the day of his arrival he requested a gate key so he could lock-in his autistic child. It was explained that the lock was to keep people out and NOT to keep people in and that a key would not be provided during his stay, undeterred he re-iterated his need for to lock the gate, so to secure the gate shut, the CCTV shows him ramming two brush shafts in between the gate and fence lattice, which we consequently asked him to stop it, as it could obviously cause damage. On top of this, we had to arrange a midweek clean when two of his kids vomited all over the bedding and walls of our bedrooms to and to have it cleaned up. His response was that he cleaned it the best he could. In regards to infestations - as always, if you leave food and syrupy drinks out on surfaces then you will undoubtedly attract ants and cockroaches, keep the worktops wiped clean! As for the hotter than average weather, I make no apology but the villa has had two brand new fans fitted in April so I don’t understand his comments – yes it can get hot at nights. On the last day of his stay, he and his family never checked out until after 12 o’clock even though the checkout time was as agreed to be10 am. As there was another guest coming that day. Due to his unwillingness to vacate on time, the cleaner could not get in to clean and hence this created havoc for to get another clean rebooked and unfortunately for the new guest – this was not until evening. Embarrassing all round! Our cleaner checks the villa at the end of every stay and has provided us with the photographs of the damage that she says was done during their stay. We are the victims here; the £150 deposit will not be enough to cover the new handle & mechanism, locksmith’s fee and the extra cleaning. I have given this client a 1 star review – only because I could not give a zero. Landlords beware!

Thank you for your comments Aleks and I am sorry Sunningdale is not just as lively as Los Cristianos. To be fair though, there is nightly entertainment at our Zaccarys restaurant, it can be a bit classical and might not be to everyones taste but there is other entertainment such as karioke down at O'Donnels and the Wild Geese. There is also free entertainment for adults (archery, water aerobics etc) and kids club with animators during the day with many facilities such as mini golf, table tennis, 2 x pool tables, air football and free outside gym equipment. The shower room upstairs was renovated in 2018 and had a quality his and hers double sink and hairdryer etc installed then. Los Cristianos does have limited parking but I prefer to take the excellent bus service or the very reasonably priced taxi service if venturing outwith the resort.as I do enough driving during the year at home.. Gutted with this 3 out of 5 review for us David especially on the back of a corona virus pandemic where we have worked hard to get things as good as we can in a pretty difficult situation where we had no rental income what so ever over 20 months for improvements. The intermittent WIFI at the villa was due to be upgraded prior to lockdown as was fully explained with great detail. The installation of 600mb fibre optic broadband should be in place for the end of March 2022 now that some income is trickling in. As for the washing machine, it was never advertised as being available to you so again we feel this is a bit harsh. I reacted promptly to any queries you had as expected but as an ex villa owner yourself I would have expected a bit of empathy or at least for you to cut us some slack due to the circumstances. Indeeed, the day you landed we were still dealing with the "Calima" where winds from the Sahara continued to send streams of sand drifting over the Canary Islands, creating chaos as the swirling sands forced planes to be grounded, disrupted traffic and exacerbated wildfires. Ángel Víctor Torres, the regional president of the islands, a Spanish archipelago, told Spanish national television that it was the worst such storm to hit the islands in 40 years. He described its arrival as “a nightmare weekend.” The red dust kinda gets everywhere when this natural phenomenon happens, it gets under the door thresholds and through window vents. I know staff were working hard up tothe hour before you arrived to mitigate it's effects both inside and out of the villa but unfortunately takes a good few days to sweep up the residual dust that covered the Island. Hi Pam, Glad you generaly enjoyed your holiday. From time to time drains will give off odour. We will always respond to any queries and although I cannot be there in person to deal with any issues, our local manager is always available and told me she did go to the villa that same day however you were not there and reported to me that the smell had somewhat dispersed. Perhaps the manaager should have informed you of this.

David, I have tried to mediate with you but both the local manager and the cleaner at the complex have reported and comprehensively documented the damage to the villa that you and your associates have caused - the cost of which puts us out of pocket to the tune of 237 euros. The washing machine David is not included in the villa facilities description. An extra key would have been made available to you upon request. We were not aware the safe key had went missing and we we are now in the process of taking corrective action. The linen is changed weekly David but you refused to allow the the manager permission to laundry the linen due to the nominal 40 euro fee. (Our policy is to have linen changed weekly) The drains can smell a bit from time to time in warm countries and is pretty much par for the course but out of our control. You are reminded that if windows and doors are left open with food and sticky drinks left lying around then it will definately attract cockroaches and other pests such as ants. It was with great sadness that since our last correspondence that we have had complex guests informing us of the rubbish that you left lying around during your stay on the terrace facing the pool area. Also we have had more damage reported to us i.e. one of the table fans casings was smashed. We were so shocked from the pictures our manager sent us, that that we had to take a trip out there last week to view the damage to the walls, curtains, bedmats and sheets for ourselves. I am sorry that there is not a facility on here to share the pictures.

We are so delighted you and your family enjoyed your holiday at Sunningdale Villa and hope you all had a pleasant flight back to the UK. The complex sure does have some great features and entertainment and we too love sitting on the balcony soaking up the atmosphere. Since we took over the villa (Easter 2017) we have been upgrading it to a higher standard and hope to be completed by Xmas 2017.
