A perfect beach retreat!
Casa Vendaval was clean, well-appointed, quiet, and comfortable. Lying in bed and looking out at the sunrise and the waves is unbeatable. Wi-fi and streaming services were perfect. Edwin and Irma take very good care of the premises and of the guests. They prepared perfect grilled lobster and mixed ceviche for us, which was definitely worth the extra cost. We did not have a car but Edwin made sure a taxi was available for us whenever we needed one. We would not hesitate to give our highest recommendation to anyone considering this property.

Best of Tulum
What a vacation! We stayed for a week at this amazing property. Everything was perfect. A great choice for our stay in Tulum. Private, beautiful setting. Our days consisted of moving from the deck...to the lounge chairs...to the hammock...the pool...and walking the beach! Edwin and Erma cooked for us whenever, and lots of restaurants close by with excellent cuisine. So glad we chose this over the huge all inclusive places. Here there was no traffic or crowds. The place was spotless, comfortable, and full of interesting touches. The host, Mac, was so helpful, answering many of my questions about traveling in Mexico. The best vacation!

Almost hesitant to share
This is our second stay at Casa Vendaval -- we were there a few years ago. Mac, the owner happened to be passing through this time and told us he'd built it in 2015-16, so it must have been brand new when we were there. Well, it's STILL brand new. A few spots on the outside where you can see the effect of salt air coming from the ocean about 10 yards away, but basically brand new. And I chalk that up to fantastic maintenance. I asked my wife what she'd like to add, and she said, "Immaculate!" Then she came back a couple of minutes later and said, "Like, eat off the floor immaculate!" Irma scrubbed the inside as if it were an operating room. Meanwhile, Edwin scrubbed -- SCRUBBED -- the outside. We had a cloudy day with high winds. The windows were misty. The next day he arrive with a ladder and attacked the screens. Then a thorough wash of Every window. Equipment? Name it. 3 different kinds of wine openers. Ice cube trays. Most places in Mexico have a big water jug on a stand for drinking water. Vendaval has a pressurized tank under the kitchen sink with a dedicated faucet. Life jackets in the closet. Spices in the pantry. 6-month supply of Q-Tips and paper supplies. And NICE toilet paper - not that nasty waxed paper kind. Location? Spit to the pool. Spit from the pool to the ocean. Edwin, of course, rakes the sand on the beach like a Zen Garden. Easy drive to Tulum, or short trip to 6 or more restaurants. Planning our next visit.

My wife and I chose to stay here for our honeymoon. Our expectations were high, yet we can confidently say they were exceeded in every facet. The property itself is absolutely incredible with beautiful views, luxurious furnishings, and sublime privacy. It was clear how much effort is put in to keeping the property in pristine shape for guests and anticipating their needs. Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted by Irma and Edwin, who both made our trip absolutely incredible. We instantly felt so welcomed and it was very evident the amount of effort and professionalism they put into our stay. On a daily basis Irma would clean the villa making it look as beautiful as it on the very first day. Irma always was anticipating any of our possible needs and wants. Every day there was ice cold water for our use in the fridge, a beautifully set up table for our meals, and wonderful conversation. Edwin immediately set up the hammocks on our arrival, gave us a tour, and helped us a lot with what areas to visit. Everyday Edwin went out of his way to ensure the property was kept in beautiful shape. From a perfectly raked beach area, cleaning the pool, a thorough tour, Edwin was an incredible property manager. We were also beyond spoiled with the incredible meals and drinks. Edwin is a top notch chef and that was very evident in every meal. Mac was very helpful and responsive to any of our questions. We could not recommend this place and it’s hosts enough. Thank you for sharing your home.

Great, private location
Loved the location and the house. Tulum has really blown up over the past 10-15 years and is not as quiet and "off the beaten path" as before. My wife and I specifically picked this house because it appeared to be a little more outside main Tulum and thus more quiet/peaceful. We were really happy with the location...felt more secluded even though we were only about 5 miles from town. Great setup, great views of the ocean. Would definitely stay there again.

A Beautiful Sanctuary!
We’re back at home but still floating on a Casa Vendaval cloud! The property was everything. Clean, pristine, high end finishes inside, beautiful landscaping, and private. The home is located on a very private beach. There is a famous cenote within walking distance as well as a few resorts for cocktails or meals. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature. We took naps in the hammocks under the palapa. The kitchen provided everything I needed to prepare meals (it was very easy to get groceries on our way from CUN). The air conditioning worked well. The property has a built in water filtration system. They even had a substantial Ninja blender for blended margaritas :) + books and games. I had to check in at work each day and the wifi worked perfectly. We took the trip to explore the area but honestly, it was hard to leave this home every day! We were absolutely spoiled by the property caretakers. We ordered dinners from them our first evening and were HOOKED thereafter. The meals were delicious!! And the prices are so reasonable that it makes sense to order meals whenever you’ll be home. The host (Mac) and property caretakers all went above and beyond throughout our stay. Any questions we sent Mac about exploring the area, or logistical needs while we were out, were responded to quickly, kindly, and thoroughly. We both felt completely rejuvenated at the end of our stay. We’ll absolutely be back! Highly recommended

Amazing stay
Very secure location. The pictures do not do justice to how nice the setting is. The cottage is perfect size for a couple. The pool was amazing and proximity to the ocean/beach is great. You hear the ocean 24x7. Beach/Ocean is a bit rocky so bring beach shoes. Great location for Chichen Itza, Tulum ruins, local beaches, coba and more. Playa del carmen is about 30 minutes away by car. Best of all was Edwin and Emma. They went out of their way to make the stay great. Emma cooks and offers a nice menu, property is cleaned and pool well maintained daily. And the cottage is fully services every day. And covered parking. We really loved our stay and will come back again.

Perfect Romantic oasis
He stayed at Casa Vendaval for 5 nights for our anniversary. It was perfect. Our own private palapa with hammocks and also the most wonderful spot for yoga. The private pool was such a treat and such a delightful way to cool off after a day of golf. The suite have everything we needed. We were even able watch a playoff hockey game! Edwin and his wife were very kind and helpful when needed. Mac our host was very easy to communicate with and gave us lots of details and where to dine, shop and for other activities. We had a wonderful time and would stay again and definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Amazing property
Property is better in person. Location is ideal, close enough to Tulum Beach/Pueblo if that’s your thing. We did 2days down in Sian Ka’an, beautiful deserted beaches, El Ultimo Maya is a friendly place with tasty food and drinks, much cheaper than Tulum area. Care takers Edwin and Irma are fantastic. FWIW, we also spent a couple of days in Akumal, which we really enjoyed. Mac was great, the local was perfect. Spend a morning at the ruins, we sprung for a local guide, well worth it for info, though the site is easily self guided if prefer. All restaurants on “local dirt road” were good with descent friendly service. Our best meal was at BKSY. Locals everywhere we went were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Fantastic Experience
My wife and I visited for our 30th Anniversary. The property was as described and fabulous. Perfect escape for us. The on-site, Edwin and Erma, were fantastic and helpful. We hired Edwin to cook 3 meals for us which were magnificent. Communication from the owner was spot on and informative. The last night, my wife had a massage which was great. Highly recommend this location.

Noisy visit
Beautiful location, property and friendly service. However, the area would lose power 2-3 times per day. When the power was out, the sound of generators interrupted any chance of a quiet visit. The area also has numerous construction sites, including the neighboring property. So when the generators weren't disturbing us, the hammering and sawing were. If you are looking for any type of peace and quiet, this is not the property.

complete BS…. To all who look at our fine top of line property, please consider the 127 five star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ reviews and the 30 consecutive 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews on another website. We lost power due to a transformer explosion 💥 . The power was never out more than a total of 30 minutes. We do have a full house generator where you can blast air conditioners, TVs and every single thing that needs to be powered . We do have a back up generator to the back up . As for the generator noise, it is impossible to hear because they’re set back about 170 feet away from the villa . We do have construction in our area but it’s at least 1 KM. away which has 0 effect on the peacefulness of our property…. Just read reviews .

Amazingly beautiful. Edwin and Erma are very attentive, more than generous with their time and made are stay incredible. Highly recommend this villa for a romantic getaway Close to Tulum city for great food, shopping and attractions. Can’t even imagine a better spot. Looking forward to returning. Mac, the owner, was available for all our questions and walked us through our trip from booking, recommendations for best restaurants and so much more. I really didn’t want to leave.

Fantastic experience from start to finish! The property owner was extremely responsive in providing resources and guidance leading up to our trip. While on property, we were honored to have meals cooked for us exclusively for a nominal fee. Daily housekeeping was provided and the couple caring for the property made us feel at home. We took advantage of private massages under our canopy which were outstanding. The view from our villa was very peaceful. We loved being right on the water with an infinity pool. It was hard to leave this perfect bungalow for two and we will certainly be back.

A Magical Place !
From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by Edwin and Erma. They were super incredible, friendly and attentive. We had the pleasure to stay a whole week and it was absolutely worth it for the money, we lived our dream for a week. We love to cook, and they had pretty much anything you need. The view of the beach everyday, everything was so private. Location wise, it’s very close to town, so it’s only a few minutes drive to all the restaurants and the Tulum Ruins. We can not wait to come back ! We fell in love with Tulum and the people there ❤️🇲🇽! If you like privacy and being in complete control of your getaway …. This is the perfect place !

Worth it!
Renting this property for our Tulum honeymoon was a great decision. The view is absolutely beautiful, wake up looking out to the ocean from your bed every morning! The infinity pool and palapa on the property are wonderful places to relax and enjoy the view. The property is very well kept up and beautiful. The caretakers (Edwin & Irma) clean everything inside and outside everyday. The food we had Edwin & Irma prepare for us exceeded our expectations and I would encourage anyone renting this place to get as many of your meals from them as you can, you won’t beat the quality, price, and convenience! We also hired the neighbor Sue and her partner to do a couples massage for us under the palapa and it was amazing! The house is fully stocked with everything you need if you do wish to cook. Full laundry room stocked with all the detergents etc you may need. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and other random OTC meds & toiletries stocked in the bathroom. The beach area in front of the house is rocky but we knew that before we came, you can bring water shoes and walk out into the bay, several people were snorkeling in the bay as well, you can walk further down the beach to more sandy areas if you wish. There is also a cenote on the road that you can visit. You also aren’t far from other popular beaches in the area, very short drive to the ruins and playa paraiso. We had a few meals at the nearby boutique hotel restaurants and they were lovely as well. You could certainly go your entire trip never leaving the road the house is on. One thing to mentally prepare yourself for is the road leading to the property, full transparency, it’s not great and it does take some patience going over the rough parts, takes about 10 minutes to get to the house from the main highway but we were prepared for that and it wasn’t something that would keep us from coming again. The owner Mac sent us lots of helpful information and guidance prior to our trip. We were nervous about renting a car and driving ourselves from Cancun to Tulum but Mac assured us that was the best bet and he was right, it is a very easy drive straight down the highway from the Cancun Airport to the house, impossible to get lost and it was great to be able to come and go as we pleased during the trip. Even though the caretakers Edwin and Irma are on the property they have completely separate living quarters, we had total privacy and reign of the space, and it was nice to have them close by!

I cannot tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed this place. We celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. Everything you read about this home is true. no complaints, other than we had to leave after our stay! I bought some food on the way in, then i counted on Edwin to do the shopping for us ($25.0/trip) well worth it! Not to mentioned his wife Erma' cooking is amazing. Edwin has a menu and all the food we ordered was off the chart. I ordered Mexican food "off the menu" (being from Cali) i know Mexican food. She was awesome, and the lobster dinner. Simply Amazing! we never left the home. We will be coming back here soon to bask in a very private home with a pool and on the beach. Thank you Mac, you'll be hearing from me.

Everything about this place was amazing! The pool,the hammocks, the view. We slept great in the bed and the sound of the waves was really relaxing. The owner gave us a recommendation for fishing and we had Edwin and Erma cook us meals from our catch. The meals were delicious. Edwin and Erma were so sweet and kept the property spotless. We also received massages in the palapa which were great. We were only there for 3 days because we split up our trip but would not hesitate to return in the future. Pure relaxation

My Husband and I just got back from here from a 5 night stay. It was just what we needed for our anniversary. We just cannot say enough about how relaxing it is here. The owner Mac is full of details and information and we tried many of his suggestions for food and places to visit and all of them were wonderful. Edwin and his wife were there to help with any issues and questions and kept the place immaculently clean. If you are on the fense book this place its was paradise.

We found it easy, comfy, and private here. We come to the area often - Cancun to Tulum and really enjoyed our stay here. If you are unfamiliar with the area... I would highly recommend working with the owner and his staff to shop for you in advance of your arrival and even prepare your meals for you if you like. It doesn't get much better than this!

Casa Vendaval is the perfect place for 2 people!
Everything about the Casa Vendaval is perfect. From the time that we arrived and were greeted by Edwin and Erma, until the moment that we left, 7 days later, we were spoiled by the villa, the weather and Edwin and Erma. Everything about the villa is laid out perfectly for 2 people. The villa is well appointed, clean and well stocked. Everything that you would need has been considered. Oh, there is one really big problem with staying here though. Since the villa was so perfect, we soon realized that going to the local attractions wasn't as good as just staying at the villa and enjoying the pool, the ocean, Sue's massages and the many restaurants right on the dirt road. We also took advantage of Edwin's cooking and ordered meals that he prepared for us. The meals were wonderful. Don't think twice about booking. You won't be disappointed.

The place and location where amazing. It was a safe haven of much needed rest with all meals prepared during the stay at reasonable prices and tasty. Edwin & Irma are so wonderful and accommodating., we miss them. It was easy to communicate with the person in charge of the rental. Wish the pool was heated, beach accessible to swim because of the rocks, and that the road to the villa gets paved. Overall a great place to stay and would book again.

We had a wonderful 9 days. The home and location are beautiful. The pool was fantastic. We spent the entire time just lounging at the pool and enjoy the views. Edwin and Erma are gracious hosts and caretakers. We had them cook for us 4 nights because their meals were as good if not better than the restaurants. Mac, the owner, truly cares about the property and his guests and works very hard to insure experience is the best.

A WONDERFUL Getaway!
Me and my fiancee had an absolutely magical stay at Casa Vendaval! Full moon rises over the ocean, shooting stars and a sea turtle the size of a small car visited our beach two nights in a row to dig a nest! Such awesome sights! Little green lizards, black spiny tailed iguanas and hermit crabs of various sizes also frequented the patio daily! Mac was a fantastic host! Pleasant, accommodating and generous throughout our stay, while also being very respectful of our privacy. He and Edwin met us at our shuttle, took our luggage and gave us a very thorough tour of the house before leaving us to settle in for the evening. We’d arrived late and all the restaurants were closed. To our absolute surprise, Edwin and Erma made a delicious assortment of fresh veggies, nuts, and tuna sandwiches. We’d shared our dietary restrictions, and for them to take that into account was beyond gracious. Mac and Edwin were also kind enough to arrange taxi service for us! We doubt you’ll really want to leave the villa, but if you do, restaurants are walkable at nearby hotels. Cleaned daily, the villa was immaculate and truly a paradise away from home. All the reviews are true! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, the bed was more than spacious (I'm 6'4) and slept well, and the shower provided good pressure and piping hot water! The villa is also very well air-conditioned. Outside, enjoying a good book on the hammock proved too relaxing to stay awake! The pool is very nicely sized and the temperature was always perfect, day and night. It also has RGB mood lighting — a nice touch! Massages under the palapa by Sue, the neighboring masseuse, are heavenly! And Casa Vendaval’s beach is wonderfully maintained. The view, sounds, and breezes coming off the ocean are PERFECT. We had a few passersby at the shoreline, but no one lingered or was intrusive. Per Mac’s recommendation, we were able to get rapid antigen COVID-19 testing at the nearby Alea Hotel for $25USD/pp. Results were emailed within an hour. I have looked far and wide along the Yucatan peninsula for such a place, and not only did I find it, but the value CANNOT be beaten! Mac provides you with EVERYTHING you need to know about the area (who, what, where, costs, etc.), and was still patient enough to answer all of our additional questions! He and his staff will make sure you’re taken care of! Don’t doubt, just book! Thank you Mac, Edwin and Erma for a wonderful first trip to Mexico! We hope to visit again!

Peaceful paradise
From the time we arrived at the airport the directions Mac provided us were phenomenal and brought us straight to the house. The road up to the house is a little bumpy but right when we arrived we were greeted by Mac, Edwin and Erma. Mac gave us a tour of the house and showed us how to use everything inside of the house. The first night we were there we saw a giant sea turtle coming up to lay her eggs right on the beach behind the house. The pool was awesome and provided some great views. The road the house is on has a bunch of boutique hotels with great food and drinks, they are more tranquil and less trendy than the ones in the hotel zone so they make for great hang out spots. The cenote on the road was one of our favorites but be aware there is a four to five foot crocodile that patrols the waters. We went downtown one night and didn't get back till late Mac texted us to ensure we were okay. Knowing the host actually cared about their guests meant a lot. On the last night we had Edwin and Erma cook for us and it was by far the best meal we had the entire time we were down there. The house was immaculate every single day. Erma and Edwin did a great job with keeping everything neat and in order. Over all, the house and the entire road were our favorite part of the Tulum experience. Perfect Spot near Tulum
This was my second stay at the Villa, and it’s just spectacular. The host, Walter & Maritza are all fabulous. The sea turtles nesting on the beach at night is just a peaceful, beautiful site. The villa & pool are kept so clean and nice, I’ve never been to a better rental for a vacation.

The Perfect Vacation Property!
Believe every one of the reviews! This place is gorgeous and perfect for 2 people. Every interior amenity is elevated. Great size, comfortable king size bed, spacious walk-in closet, beautiful bathroom, etc. But the outdoor space is what makes this place. The pool is much bigger than expected! The beach is private. The hammocks are wonderful. We received massages from the neighbor Sue in the palapa and it was the most relaxing experience I had in years. We loved how secluded it was - it's located about a mile down a dirt road in a gated community. You definitely need to rent a car but it's quick drive into the town of Tulum. We drove in for breakfast and lunch every day then took a taxi into town for dinner and drinks at night. The taxis wait at the gate and can be there to pick you up in a few minutes. Walter and Maritza are terrific and kept the space spotless, inside and out. Mac was in constant communication before and during the trip. Everything about this trip was easy. I will be back many times!

We loved everything about our stay at Casa Vendaval. The house was spotless. The location was extremely private. And Walter and Maritza were amazing hosts; helpful but never in the way. And Maritza’s cooking was amazing. She made two dinners for us, and they were our favorite meals of the trip. Would highly recommend.

Little piece of paradise
Owner Communication is A1 and prompt from check in to recommendations to finish. Pictures really don’t do justice for the property or surrounding area perfect setting for a couple wanting a private ocean front getaway and a private pool overlooking the ocean. A/c is piping cold and food prepared by Walter & Maritza is very accommodating if you don’t wish to eat out. Tankah is the perfect location if you want access to Tulum without the loud parties or police on every corner you get peace and quiet and a short 20min drive to almost everything including Tulum Akamal Playa del Carmen etc . Definitely recommend the property for a couple would definitely stay again in the future Thanks to Mac for the experience👍🏼

I cannot say enough great things about this rental. Communication with Mac the owner from the beginning was easy. Walter and Maritza were so warm and friendly and ready to help us if we needed anything . From the gorgeous accommodations, to the amazing view, to the private pool, and the stunning beachfront it was a perfect getaway. We will be making a return for sure!

There is SO MUCH!!!! First I want to say thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful villa!!! Upon arrival Maritza and Walter greeted us to show us our home, we arrived a couple hours after check-in and we did not have any cellphone service however Mac provided such amazing directions and info we found the place no problem!!! The Vendaval Villa was so cute and quaint just perfect for couples!!!...We felt very safe with the extra Security both upon entry into the community and at the villa! There is absolutely nothing like waking up to the ocean breeze, catching the sunrise over the ocean every morning while on you own private part of the beach!!! So amazing!!!! I enjoyed relaxing in the palapa sipping on my drinks, it was a little too cold for me to get into to pool but my partner enjoyed a swim or two!!!... The waters were ruff all along the coast of Mexico while we were there so water sports in the ocean were not a good idea! Fortunately you have a beautiful beach you can explore, a private pool for swimming, palapa for chilling and a cosy villa all to yourself with TV, Cable, Internet, bluetooth compatible, Full kitchen!!! Really everything you need!!!! (Bathrooms fully stocked, toiletries, shampoo, body wash, Qtips literally everything) coolers, beach towels you name it!!! Theres an amazing huge Cenote right up the road, you can walk to it if you wanted!!! Amazing!!!! We were about 20min drive to downtown Tulum, very easy to navigate!!! Also (for an additional charge) having a PRIVATE CHEF is always a plus!! Maritza was a great cook!!! We really enjoyed the privacy and convenience!!! Such a great getaway!!! Thank you all again for hosting such and amazing experience!!!"

Another great week at Casa Vendaval!
This was our 3rd stay at Casa Vendaval since September 2020 and it was awesome as ever. The weather in January was excellent. We enjoyed beach time at Playa Paraiso. We discovered an excellent restaurant, Cetli which was new to us. Walter and Maritza are always very helpful. The house is comfortable, well furnished and private. The kitchen is excellently equipped. The house and grounds are meticulously maintained. We enjoyed access to Netflix in the evenings. Once again we enjoyed Maitza’s lobster! We feel that Casa Vendaval is our home away from home!

Amazing Stay in Tulum
We very much enjoyed our stay. Walter the caretaker was amazing and answered all of questions quickly and accurately. Walter and his wife also prepared 3 amazing meals for us that were delicious. The beaches were beautiful and plenty to enjoy with in walking distance including small restaurants and diving in a Cenote. The 1/2 mile walk to the adjacent cove was amazing as well with shallow clear water perfect for snorkeling. Amazing home perfect for 2 people. I highly recomend it.
