Top Windermere Hotel Reviews
The Ryebeck Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The two brothers running the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. They made us and our dog very welcome. The room was spacious and comfortable with a patio and view of the lake. Breakfast was very good and there were even sausages for the dog. There was plenty of parking and just a few minutes drive to Bowness-on-Windermere. Good value for money and we would definitely recommend staying here."
Lakes Hotel and Spa
8/10 Good
"Room was clean, towels were not changed daily and tea/coffee facilities were not replenished every day, luckily I had taken my own. Staff very friendly, breakfast was good with lots to choose from. Pool area was good main pool was bright but a bit dark and dangerous in areas, the hot tub was not very clean or clear you could not see the steps to get in, needs lighting to see where you are going, health a safety hazard. Nice to have a bar on the poolside, and it stayed open till late. Lots of people in the on-site pub in bathrobes eating and drinking as you had to go through pub to get to the pool. Good in the pub had a good variety to choose from reasonable priced. All in all it was a nice hotel and a pleasant stay, but the pool area definitely needs to a bit brighter to see where you are going."
Holly Lodge Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"Really quirky decor. Fantastic staff made the stay relaxing. Free parking is a bonus in Windermere. The guest lounge which allows you to take your own drinks in was utilised. Free access to a nearby by gym and spa is also included, although we didnt use these. Overall a fantatic stay. Will return Breakfast was lovely good quality and tasty"
The Angel Inn - The Inn Collection Group
10/10 Excellent
"A well located inn for visiting central Bowness-on-Windermere. Plenty of parking options around."
Gilpin Hotel & Lake House
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel & lake house grounds are amazing and the setting is stunning. The room could use some TLC, the carpet was bubbling and the shower gels empty on arrival. The hot tub outside our room however was very lovely and unexpected. Putting some lights and a bit more private would really add to it. Overall it was a lovely stay and would go back!"
Merewood Country House
8/10 Good
"I reported the following: upon arrival excellent welcome, the room wardrobe had the laminate on one of the doors ripped and could easily have come off or cause an injury ( on the hand) whilst sliding open, a few hairs were also found, on the desk. I received a sorry about that but nothing else happened. The bar had a bell service due to lack of staff or guests which sometimes entailed a wait to be served. The hotel itself is historic and great setting / location. It rained each day so not good to see the scenery , not the hotels fault though. The evening food choice was very limited but they can cater for the options with the à la carte restaurant. It was cold in the main restaurant, after guests ( my wife & brothers wife) complained it was fixed the next day, however it ruined the evening eating with coats on! Overall for wedding it’s expensive even though it was quiet. I would not rush back here from Brighton though"
Briery Wood Country House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at Briery Wood Country House Hotel. The hotel was warm, clean and comfortable, making it a lovely base for our Lake District trip. A special thank you to the team for the thoughtful arrangement they made for us—it added a lovely personal touch and made our stay even more special. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend the hotel!"
Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"We had room 310 it where there are some sort of blowers air con also a fire door is left open and the staff use it come come in and out but the hotel is a great place to stop apart from this"
Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"Hotel and location lovely. We were just slightly disappointed in the spa, after a long day walking we were looking forward to relaxing in the spa with a jacuzzi/ hot tub but there was only a pool."
